Also, I think this fits on Off-Topic and moving it to Warcraft Discussion is not a good idea.

I guess not. I was thinking, would this be better as a sticky on site discussion or is that only for threads made by the staff?

There is a vast number of threads that guide new users. Since the forum is 10 years old, it is already a pain to dig up such threads (nor do new members care this much). You learn as you go.

Stickies are not exclusive to staff members, unless they are useful. Yours would be useful 5 years ago. Since it has been stickied in WEHZ, there's no need to stick it twice.
