well, I just wanna know who among the people of The Hive is using RPG maker, any version...

I've used XP and VX and currently trying VX ace...

RPG Maker is a line of softwares which allow you to create "old-style" turn-based RPG games...

Uh, I don't know which version I used, but I got it for no other reason than editing chosen maps from a single game, to avoid having to spend hundreds of hours leveling up in a New Game+.

They kind of ruined this by taking the old versions off the internet, for reasons I will never understand.

I think the main reason is to promote the usage of the newer versions, which you of course need to buy from them...

I have RPG Maker XP, but I probably won't finish any games with it.
I'm mostly interested in just scripting/practicing with Ruby to change the boring default scripts.

Ah, the good old RPG Maker 2003. Such a wonderful tool. It's not for everyone, basically it's for storytellers and pixel artists, so it fits pretty well with me.

VX is an abomination. Those frigging huge heads is making your character look retarded.
It's a step down from XP and XP is a step down from the 2003.

Personally, if I were them, I would've given the code function to rpg maker 2003 and called it a day.

Ah, yes, the RPG Maker.
Personally I've only played around with it a few times, but after seeing some of the magnificent games created by others, it seems to be capable of rather great things, despite its rather primitive nature (at first glance, anyway).

My favorite version has to be 2003. VX is probably a better tool overall, but I can't really stand its graphics.

Me? I use VX Ace but still I mostly play games made with XP cause the player graphics looks like the Pokemon players in VX and Ace right?

But I preffer to use VX Ace(btw my VX Ace is cracked/I did not pay for it)

I currently have VX (Ace, specifically) and XP, but I still love XP the most, and used the longest. Far longer than modding WarCraft 3.
