[Solved] Removing the submerge ability

Hi everyone,

i'm currently stuck on removing submerge from custom naga units, i found some informations about how to in this forum but the best solution would be to remove the ability from the model. I can't find the normal mdx files from the editor tho.

How do i remove the Submerge ability from these two units?:

-Naga royal guard
-Snap dragon

You remove it like any other ability:

But why do you need to remove the animations? They shouldn't play unless you tell them to. Perhaps the better solution would be to find out what's causing them to play and change that.

I use the Snap Dragon as a sort of Hero tower for example, having every tower like property except for being able to turn and not counting as an actual building. When i replace a unit with its model via trigger, it is in its submerged state, only surfacing when attacking or casting.

I've tried debugging, removing and adding abilities to change its morph behavior but so far no luck.

That's when i stumbled across this post:

- where TheWhiteWolf just removed the ability from the .mdx file. I already testet this and his version of the Myrmidon and so i want to do the same.
But i lack knowledge on how to get the models in the first place from the base game and then remove them over the War3ModelEditor :)

Have you tried messing with animation tags? Those are what dictate which animation set a unit uses. For example, a Footman will use it's Defend related animations as long as it has the "defend" tag. You could try removing the "alternate" tag (not 100% positive about the name) or maybe add/remove it to hopefully "force" the model into playing the correct animations.

I've tried what you suggested, but no luck..
I've tried adding others Abilities to override it maybe.
The Unit doesn't have any tags or animations in the editor, my only option seems to be the animation removal from its model.
But i can't extract the model files (.mdx) with the programs i got: W3ModelEdior, CascView, Mpqeditor etc.

Can someone do me a huge favor and extract the two models: Naga Royal Guard and Snap Dragon?
And maybe remvove the animations for submerge - Pretty please? :)

Edit: I got the models now thanks to someones help but i can't get the animation removed.
mdlVis doesn't work either for the reforged Model versions...

Edit2: I kind of managed to remove the animation for snap dragon, but it then just disappears...

When i use the models as imported, they have no model at all.
When i try to change the path and delete "war3mapImported\" i get the error "Change Failed: An asset with that configuration already exists".
I have no other assets imported with that file name right now...
