I don't know much about removing hero glow in .mdl format using Notepad, but what I do know is how to remove it using Magos only :

1 - Open the model.
2 - Hold Ctrl and click on the hero glow that shows under his feet.
3 - Go to Windows tab and click Geoset Manager and you will find which geoset is attached to the glow.
4 - Right click on that geoset and click remove.

And it's done, you may also wanna remove the Replaceable ID 2 texture from the Texture Manager after that.

Note : Make sure when removing a geoset that there are no geoset animations that are set to "none" or il will crash the game.

Omg, it's so easy. Thank you Warseeker.

Another problem is I did the same with Paladin and somehow his portrait is broken.
I guess I have to import portrait too, I'll check it out now.

EDIT. Okay, it's alright now, portrait is well.

Rep for you of course, Warseeker.
