Looking for some help fixing a model file that I've been trying to edit but now won't display in World Editor.

I'm working on a custom map where I want a Red Dragon that spawns flying but lands to fight with melee when it reaches half health. I couldn't find a model that was suitable but I found this model from Cavman which is a Blue Dragon with alternate animations for walking and melee. On the model page Cavman suggested that if anyone wanted different colours they could just change the textures. So I downloaded Retera's Model Studio and started trying to teach myself how to edit models. I had a play around with Cavman's model changing the animations a bit and changing the textures, but found that just using the standard Red Dragon textures left it looking all warped and scrunched, so I decided to merge the animations with the fantastic Red Dragon model from Ujimasa Hojo. I couldn't get this to work and after a few hours of frustration I settled on a model file that used Ujimasa Hojo's model while flying and the weird red version of Cavman's model for the alternate form.

But then when I went to see how the model looked in the world editor, it wouldn't load and I was left with the green+black checker boxes in the editor and nothing at all in game.
This happened with both of the versions of the file that I made, see linked.

Is there something that I am missing here?
Is it something to do with my version of Warcraft III being 1.26a?

If anyone is able to take the time to either tell me what I've done wrong or just fix the model file for me that would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, RedKiwi

On a side note for whatever reason I couldn't use Ctrl+W to attach vertices to nodes, has anyone else had this problem (I'm using v0.4.2b)?
