Preparations for War - Dun Modor

In the first days of the Second War, Warchief Doomhammer sent a small orcish scout party from Stormwind Ruins to investigate and adquire information about the target. The Horde was planning to attack Dun Modor, the nearest dwarven fortress, with mighty walls. Under a bone cuting wind and a freezing snow, the 3 unlucky grunts are scouting the area, while the dwarves are waiting for the attack, inside their immense walls.

- Update:
- Replaced the Lordaeron Winter Grass with Grassy Snow.
- Fixed the walls problem .
- Added more details to the walls.

- Update 2:
- Added more details to the hill.
- The grunts are now fatter.
- Replaced the grass.
- Remade the wall above the gate.

Special Thanks to Zerox for her Campaign Grunt.

That grass in the middle of the snow is bad.

I like the sky, looks similar to my contest submission with blue and purple clouds >.>

The fortress is ok but line those walls up better it looks like a few are off a bit and the gate doesnt look much like a gate.

Well, it's a dwarf gate... The dwarves reinforced it with stone pillars.

The clouds are my standard morning clouds for Khaz Modan.

I will work more on it, expect a better version for todays night.

All times are GMT -3. The time now is 02:40 PM.

Update:
- Replaced the Lordaeron Winter Grass with Grassy Snow.
- Fixed the distorced walls problem .
- Added more details to the walls.

BIG improvment on that wall and gate.

I dunno about the animated grass doodads there... too bad there wasnt 1's with snow on them.

If you want my advise just scrap that whole hill there with the trees on it and place more grunts and siege wepons - i hardly consider 3 grunts a "siege" xD

You have to read the description one more time:

And if I scrap the hill (with noise xD), the mountains in the background wouldn't appear...

The wall shouldnt just suddenly stop like that, and should be built into some mountain or something like that, its like the dwarfs tend to build. Also, that grass model DONT fit the terrain, at all. The orcs really seem out of place, almost like any unit in a terrain at all will do >.> And you have to work a bit more on your doodad placement.

Tile? I'm not talking about the grass tile, I am talking about the grass model the animated one, I suggest that you either completly remove it or tint it to fit the grass tile, then lower it into the ground so that it sticks only a little bit over the ground.

Ok, I'll do this, or I can replace the grass, but I think I'll just tint it.

Updated:

New, and probably last version, with other grass model. But I didn't lowered it because I want the grass to cover part of the Grunts.

Also, I'm making a terrain inside these walls, so, I'll now work on the invasion scene, with crumbled towers and orcs in the entrace with some riflemans.

This is not much of a update HFR xD

That hill just needs to be changed completly ... it just doesnt seem right, at least to me.

You keep adding vegitation... usualy when there is snow on the ground you dont see grass and flowers growing, your going in the wrong direction.

Those rocks seem kind of unessasary too, i thought you where gonna use some ice tiles - what happen to that idea?
