i am curious about player opinions about what could be better when production/craft skill (blacksmith/tailor/jeweller/pharmacist) level is increased

a) Blacksmith, tailor, jeweller have a minor chance with each craft level (+1%/lv) for craft better equipment, pharmacist have a chance for bonus potion at craft

b) Blacksmith, tailor, jeweller, pharmacist could craft faster also gather the raw materia / herb faster

c) Item craft required craft level, example for higher level item, you need higher level craft skill, not just more materia

d) Higher craft skill make more chance for free craft (at lv10 you have 10% chance for the crafting dont consume your materia)

e) Other ideea, tell your ideea

I feel like C and a part of B seem reasonable. Maybe A, I will post my idea on that one below.

C (higher crafting level => can craft better items) because it's only reasonable that a rookie can't craft an epic item, no matter what materials he might have (real world example: you might get the best drawing equipment in the world, if you can't draw, you won't be able to create something really nice).

The part of B that I would like is the faster gathering. Although faster crafting is also pretty nice, of course :D.
I just think that faster gathering indirectly speeds up the crafting process, so the direct speed-up isn't necessary: you will get your materials faster, so the overall time you spend on creating a single item (from gathering to crafting) will be less.

A is a nice idea, but how exactly will it work?
If you're going to use your sweet item system, then maybe quality/rarity may not be much of a problem: you can just create a chance that a crafted item may have +X quality, or +Y rarity (from normal to magic for example). But if your plan is to make it a standalone system, then I would not recommend it.


So... I guess I went for the last option? Kinda?

- make craft level requiment item craft+1 from B + minor chance for better quality (at my case quality=rarity, higher quality = better item = more rare)

still idk faster gathering or minor boost on crafting better?

you got a bigger chance to succes creating the item depending on lvl

i dont got this, because every craft is succesfull (or atleast mostly) because lets say u craft a armor, kinda annoying if raw materia disappear and u got nothing

yes, I know that. I mean't more like if you try to craft a item that is "hard" (a few lelvels higher level) there should be a chance to fail

ah, but situation is, for crafting higher level item, u need higher craft skill, else only max +5 lv higher item is craftable but atm too when u leveling the craft skill, that already more and more succesfully crafting for reach the new craft level, so if have chance for fail then that make more harder the lv uping the craft skill

I was wondering this myself :).
I chose gathering because it might have some trading value, so it would also help you get gold if you don't want to increase your crafting level (or if it is already maxed).
This doesn't have to be the case though (and might not even be wanted).

level requirement seems logical to me, as stated earlier in the post.
Speed boost on collecting/crafting is also a nice benefit.

I think the "free craft" is a nice idea but a bit extreme. You should implement a chance to use less material, but not completely free crafting :)

ok i made something like u all said, so each craft level give 2% chance for enhanced item and each 5 lv give 1% chance for rare item (only boss can drop very rare and excelent items), ofc max crafting level is lv10, also higher level harvest faster, crafting speed constant so dont faster.

if u want u can check it, t10x every helpfull comment :)

(still craft progressbar pretty ugly, i use now 16x16 images - yeah that red crap about the tooltip window)
