Pause unit without stopping buff timers

Is there a way to pause an unit but keeping the buff it has active, so it expires while the unit is still paused (not pausing the buff expiration)

Stunning the unit with a fire/stormbolt for X number of seconds you wish it to be paused, use a hidden dummy to apply it.

I managed to find a work around based on this idea, thank you
