particle emitter with direction?

I've been trying to make a particle emitter that emits diagonally, but even if I rotate the emitter sqaure diagonal the particles still go straight upward. I tried ticking "line emitter" but that seems to have no effect either.

Sephiroth_VII what modeling software you use?

Create a helper rotated diagonally then attach the particle to it and check model space.

You could also rotate the emitter itself, but the helper is easier to work with (and probably work better for some reason or another).
