How is everyone doing?
I'm just interested, did anyone lose their job during the pandemic
Did you find another one ( better or worse )
Did somebody also use this site to take payday loan because their monthly salary got reduced?

My employer said that we could work from home 100% from March 2020 until September 2021, and now I work from office about 1 day a week (sometimes more, sometimes less).
We've been hiring, so was never scared of losing my job, luckily.
Gaining over 1 hour a day by not traveling over 30 mins each direction is fairly huge!

Both pros and cons to be honest. We're on permanent home office, which is a great thing. It gives me more freedom to live where I want and so on.

On the other hand we have laid off around 30-40% of our staff, and the ones who remained had to pick up the slack for the ones that got laid off. Ironically enough, the company is doing better than ever so in short; Higher volume + less manpower.

I started reading again, which I’ve been wanting to do for years! Lots of baking like many other people were doing, gardening (although not at the moment), trying to cook new recipes, learning to pickle things I’ve grown, tried out some simple brewing, drawing, gotten into exercise and home workouts. Also I have been working on my site and trying to generate some kind of income from it.. so far no luck lol but it's taking up a lot of my time so at least I'm somewhat distracted

I just graduated in early 2021 (statistics degree) and haven't apply to anything. Most of my friends already get jobs o.o
Back to July 2020, I need to apply intern for my final thesis. But I still live with my mom and she has pretty bad condition. So I can't really risk to work on site. So then I basically just gave up for this year, and I tried to open art commission. I didn't do it previously because I think it'll be hard. And it turns really great. I got same, or even sometimes better income than fresh graduate. At same time, one of my lecturer gave me his research for the thesis, so I don't need to apply intern and able to graduate on second batch. Should be first batch if I didn't work on my art commission. And till now, I'm still doing freelance drawing o.o Although managing time as freelancer is really hard. Still can't work on proper schedule o.o

And I think most people I know also got 'positive' impact (on jobs) from covid o.o
