I seem to remember seeing concept art of Kilrogg Deadeye with a kilt... Or was it from Dawn of Chaos previews...

well, i do know thats i way to high poly...
but i find it easier to first model high poly and then reduce the polycount, as i feel to have more influence on the edgeloops then!
and i used a very high poly blueprint as backgorund to get the meshflow right.

well, i thought to make the kilt teamcolour...
But noone posted an alternative...

But i have something in mind (though that is going to have much polies aswell -.-)

and i'll see about the cigar...
because i do realise that its going to be really hard to get all the smoke and animated glowing texture and animations coordinated right :p

well, the whip is a cylinder, yes, and i do know that there are low polier wersions possible, but i think these few wont hurt that much...

*update*

meh, i hate texturing...
i never got the hang of it, but i'm still trying!
many thanks go out to Jarand.K.Hildestadt, who took the time and answered the questions i had about skinning.
Please dont be too harsh -_-
Well, be honest!

It took me like... 5 hours or sumthing :p

Outlines of the muscles looks just fine, but you need to shade the rest of the stuff as well, pick a very dark tone of the color you're working with, put the brush opacity to 5% and start going over the bodyparts with it, then pick a light version of your base color and do the same on other areas.
You can look at images like this
http://www.criticalbench.com/muscles/muscular-anatomy-front.jpg
for reference if you're not sure on how you should shade it.
Just google "muscle reference" or something like that.

*bump*

update:

I guess I'm done with the skin...
At least for now, as I am growing tired of skinning...
And everything else, buts I wont stop, no worry!
It's still taking sooo long damm it!

Am I too slow?

Well, I will step foward to animation now, maybe I'll revisit the skin some other day!
Or does anyone else feel like giving it a little touch up? *pointing at hawkwing* :p

What Needs To Be Fixed

Here's a list of what needs to be fixed:
  • Make the wrists thinner.
  • Give him a big toe - it'll make the foot look way better. To make it look like it's in the boot, don't make a gap between the big toe and other toes. Just make it a swelled part of the boot, pretty much, but you know it's a big toe.
  • Maybe give him a thicker neck.
  • His head is larger than it should be, but still looks cool and is hard to fix so nevermind that.
  • His eyes are way too wide. They're reaching the sides of his head it looks like. Make them less wide (a little before the brow is where they should end) and he won't look like an Asian.
  • I hope the texture is a W.I.P. - there's no detail in it at all, or rather, the lines you've drawn that define the muscles are way too dark. Hopefully it's to help you improve the texture later on. Otherwise I suggest you improve the texture a LOT or get a new texture artist.

i changed all the stuff you told me about last night, but didnt export the new mesh, still i wanted to show the texture progress, i hope its more to your liking now, still i dont really like the shading, its just trial and error i guess as i never ever really sat down and tried to skin seriously...

(hive's upload doesnt work, so -> imageshack)

It's pretty good on the arms now. The shadows are still pretty sharp on the torso and legs though. Also, the amount of highlights is a lot less on the arms and legs than the torso.

so more highlighting on the arms and legs or less on the torso? :p
and the legs are darker ecause of the skirt!

hmm...
i dont know about the skin structure...
compared to the normal grunt even this is way too detailed already!

*bump*
another update, this time torso and arms should be done, face is still wip!

Dude, that's a sick model.
Here's a suggestion for the texture. On the torso, take a very small and scratchy brush with high opacity and draw some scars with an extremely light tint of aqua-green. Then, just apply a little bit of shading around the scar using yellow-green to make add altitude and texture. You may want to use scratchy brushes for the shading too, or just trace the outline with a dark forest green (near black) over the scar, then highlight the very center with white and a 1 px brush. It should also add variety to the skintone, which is always great if well blended.

Hah, in the map I'm working on, I have an orc prison camp with peons doing hard labor :9, seems appropriate I'd find a slave master model.

The progress from start to finish shows how far along you've come and I must say it's very good, the texture is coming along nice though the only thing I need to see to give it a premature 5/5 is a good whip animation (am I the only one who thinks animating a whip is going to be difficult?)

thx for the kind words!

i tried to trim down the shadows a bit, its more to your liking now?

good to hear that its going to be used by someone!
dont worry, i'll get it animated properly...

would you be a bit more specific? which parts of the face should i change and how?

*update*
completely did the skirt and all leather parts!
i think i'm done with texturing, maybe i'll add a bit of shading here or there, but nothing big anymore!
