Next texturing contest.

Just looking at all the separate bits and pieces makes me wanna cry.

I say we do a UI.

You take a look at the Game Interface and tell me again you want to make your own dozens or maybe even hundreds of custom made images for a time-rescricted game. Not to mention: How many people do you expect to join for something this big? Are they all willing to spend so much time?

The chance of having a successful UI contest is just as much as the chance of extinguishing a bonfire with a paperclip.

It's not as bad as it sounds. You don't have to worry about how your skin looks on the unwrap, for example, because what you see is what you get.

Gah. I agree! It would be awesome to get some UI's made on this site, but nobody will finish one. Maybe one, possibly two. I wouldn't at all be surprised if none got finished. If you want to waste a month or two on such a contest, be my guest. It's not my decision which contests go on.

UI's are wayyy too time consuming
It usually takes someone a good amount of time to finish one
I've never seen someone bang one out for a contest
It is alot to do because yes..what you see is what you get with them
I'm not for it personally

although
that long hair thingy on the model's neck is quite narrow, hardly can become something else than a *hair*, what many kinds of skins wouldn't make use of...if only it had a face to cover the hole that may remain if the hair is made transparent
if it weren't for the unwrap, id ask the wings to be wider...but it would become crappy in the wrapping if so...
also i think that 512² is way too much, 256² would be better, also more tricky to make it look good and not taking a lot of filesize

everything else gives hundreds of possibilities, ive got an idea of what my entry will be =P

the right part of the chest (on the TC area) has flipped normals.

That's because I flipped half of the chest because I couldn't see the missing planes in Vertex Modifier....
EDIT: Know what, fuck it. Just do another wc3-model contest.

I can't fix it without having to re-assign it to whatever bone system I stole back then, which I'm not willing to do... So it's either the fucked-up normals one or the hole in the back one... Or another wc3 model contest.

Actually this model is really nice! A contest to texture it would be great. Hm, but, you might want to change the path to something else than "Hero.blp"(something like Black32 or White), I had to download the MDX Pather to change the path on it. Or am I missing some texture and I am not aware?

Well, there is a TGA file in the first ZIP I uploaded on one of the previous pages. You can convert that to BLP. It's the basic UV map.
