What about chat? Anyways, report button doesn't work when you've got corrupted moderators. They see the report: delete.

Excuse me...I am the Reported Post Moderator, and I keep a rather tight, fair, and uncorrupted shift around my archives thank you very much. :)

In chat, screenshot abuse/flaming/trolling/misconduct and then post in Admin Contact or message an admin.

This would be correct.

Elanai, you should try to calm down before someone makes you break any of the rules.
already started a fight with someone else in this topic? Thats a bad sign.

I like the rules, now i can comment what i think about the resources whitout having someone punching on me and try to start a spam war. :S

As for the rules, they will take some getting used to...

I hope the punishment table actually gets used. I reported some things yesterday that (I would have reported anyway) hopefully will be dealt with as they are listed here.

I haven't gotten around to checking if anything was done. I make it a point to bookmark everything I report.

Anyway, personally, I think that posting of Pornography should be a harsher sentence. Yeah sure, a permanent infraction is the harshest treatment on there, but people who post porn are usually here just to spam. In my humble little opinion it should be an auto-ban.

That was a good example of a real situation you got there Elanai.
But its more like
"blah, blah, blah"

"Stop it"

"spam, spam, spam"

"Stop it"

"!#/?, ?/!¤, /¤=/"

"OK! I said stop, neg rep"

"/"!), spam, ¤"(/ "

"infraction"

To be honest, ive seen much spam for the last weeks but today i havent seen any spam at all  Seems like the spammers readed this thread.

Are discussions/feedback/conversation about map considered spam? Because three maps just got rejected because of a lousy discussion. Seriously? 7 days because we like to give feedback? And he actually used it.

Maps rejected (as far as I know) - Resident Evil ISG, Epidemic, I Am Legend

> They only give you notification if they see you worthy enough, which isn't very often, so congrats!

This is untrue, as Hakeem noted by the fact that a PM is sent whenever an infraction is given.

Additionally, if anyone has been punished for an unknown reason, I encourage them to contact me so that I can find out why it happened and why they were not informed.

You can leave the "Message to User" box for an infraction blank, Ghan. Many people do.

I think it still sends the blah blah blah you have gotten an infraction jazz, but it obviously does not tell you why.

EDIT: Ohshi-, I smell a rant coming.

Alright, what is with this system anyways? Here's what my impression of it is:

  • We have a large userbase, and as such a large amount of troublemakers. As such, we need a good deal of moderators and some form of punishment.
  • However, the moderators we appointed moderate in a sporadic way, both in time and in judgement. Thus, their actions cannot be trusted.
  • As such, a system needs to be devised such that there is no thought involved on the part of the moderator; instead, just give them a formula that a situation can be plugged into, and the result comes out the other end. People can report complaints and it's easy enough to address them.

Come on people. If you really have that little faith in your moderators, then why did you make them moderators in the first place? The job is unpleasant enough already, and now you're just turning the people into robots... if you want objective judgement, appoint objective people, don't try to force subjective people into objective roles. Or at least, if you do, then grow some balls, admit your mistake, fix it, and move on. Believe it or not, administrators make mistakes too; it's okay to admit them. Hell, if the pretty much deified new president of the U.S. can admit he made a mistake, you can.

It isn't that hard. We haven't had a lack of people who generally do a good job. For example, I have very rarely at best seen people complain about, say, Samuraid or MySpaceBarBroke. However, I think we all know other staff choices are much more controversial, often for good reason; fights commonly break out between certain people, drama starts that brings things to a halt, and in general community happiness sinks.

So you respond by giving the moderators a dumbed-down formula to follow? It's basically the coup de grâce for critical people to be able to take the remaining parts of the staff seriously.

In summary: if you take people and take away their individuality, what are you left with? A site full of robots. Who will trust the moderators when they have to make a decision after they haven't been trusted to be able to work out what to do with a newbie who double posted?

Thread is cleaned now. Time for MrBimbo to make it dirty again!!! Lol jk.

Spamming 7 days - Post(s) Deleted

Now, I know there are two types of spamming.

1. 128947238942u34 *enter enter enter* hi, enter, guys, enter, whats, enter, up?

2. This map is fantastic! Yeah I agree, the terrain is awesome! Thanks guys! my terrain is awesome isn't it? Yeah man! Great job!

I do not think that #2 should deserve the same punishment as #1. I can see how #2 can be spam, but I believe they should be punished for not even a full day, like a slap on the wrist saying no-no!

"Double Posting 12 hours - Posts Merged or Deleted (Mod's Discretion)
Triple Posting 1 day - Posts Merged or Deleted (Mod's Discretion)"
------what does the time written refers to? is it the time after which the posts are merged or is it the time limit after which double or triple posting is allowed?

Suppose that i make a post then within minutes some other person also makes a comment on the same thread after my post. if i make a post after say 10 minutes then will it be considered as double posting?

No. This refers to consecutive posts by the same person.

I don't see why people donate masses money, just to get banned the 'following' day. Shall we miss him or not?

Back to topic then: It's useful and yet again a bit harsh, especially for new people.

Better Description Needed

The Punishment system needs better description regarding the time period specified with each punishment. There is a ambiguity regarding the time period.
For example i cannot seem to understand what is the 1 day specified with the triple posting.
I know that these things can be clarified in this thread but still it needs to be explained in the standardized punishment system so there is no problem in understanding this.

Addition Suggested

Add Unhealthy Criticism as a part of the punishment system. It can help in taking care of problems regarding the reviews which is sometimes encountered.
