Ya, definitely just a mislabel. besides you cant REALLY blame hasbro for that. They're a giant evil corporation, it's their job to outsource their shitty toys to the lowest bidder. So it's not so much hasbro's fault for the mislabel as it is the 3rd world country sweatshops who dont really give a fuck.

rarity's eyes are blue, so it IS sweetiebelle. its just that the way they color the hair is always shit anyway.

"AppleBloom" my ass. Hasbro, you fail at your own toys, That's Scootaloo... well, kind of. They can't even recolor it, which made me facepalm so hard the skin from my hand got ripped off. It's a miracle I can write this message without fainting.

...at least they have blank flanks.

It's not even based on the FiM series anyway, a lot of the characters have differed in some ways if not many ways from the older installments. =/

I kinda wish the guy who posted the youtube video would've asked my permission first before uploading one of my pieces in a video, especially since it's still a wip, but hey - can't complain about getting on ED again though

Pretty awesome how close they got 3D to the actual style there

I think most cartoons are actually done to a certain extent in 3D programs such as Maya. The only episode of South Park that was legitimately done with paper cut-outs was the first, everything else is in Maya. I'm pretty sure Family Guy is done in Maya as well, especially the Star Wars parodies they have made (which have obvious 3D elements in them). An episode of Scooby Doo I've seen leads me to believe the same about that show.

For the first episode of a Cartoon it takes a tremendous amount of effort to set everything up, but once all the main sets and characters are done it shouldn't take much to flush out newer episodes.

I wouldn't be surprised if MLP is done in parts in Maya as well. There are probably legitimate Maya models for everything in the show. Because it's a cartoon and the models are only used for rendering they probably have a very high polly count, and a decent amount of the models might just be 2D due to the needs of a scene.

I've heard of using 3D to render cartoons, but is that really as practical as other methods of animation particular to 2D?

I guess for one though it is easier in that you can use one model/frame/whatever (not sure if they'd animate the models, or if it'd simply be easier to make multiple ones for different frame types (standing, walking, etc.) and go similarly frame by frame) for multiple perspectives.

:/ no, MLP is made entirely in flash. other programs have used 3D in addition to the 2D stuff, like the batmobile in batman, original iron man cartoon, ballroom scene in beauty and the beast. but in MLP, the faces and bodies are so expressive and stretch/change so much that it would be incredibly impractical to animate in a 3D program. 3D animation for a 2D format is better for more rigidly rigged characters (like south park or transformers or something)

the hasbro account has nothing to do with it. Youtube's reporting system is all automated so abusing it by inputting "Hasbro, Inc" as the company he's infringing and getting him banned for it is really easy.

here have something to make you feel uncomfortable
