Monster Hunter - The Beggining (Action ORPG)
Hello all !
i was thinking about a "monster hunter" map and i wanted to make it, my last monster hunter map seems not exactly same with the actual monster hunter game, so i will completely rewrite it
This is the wikipedia for monster hunter i case you don't know.
Firstly, there's no use of level, level just only shows you that he is a completely noob.
Example :
- Level 50 Hunter with level 1 rarity equipments (n00b)
- Level 28 Hunter with level 3 rarity equipments (Pro)
- Level 15 Hunter with level 6 rarity equipments (GOD)
There are so many features from the actual MH that i want to implement.
-Custom attack system !, you have to use "attack" ability to attack monsters in front of you instead of auto attack, so, skill is required
-Equipment paths and tons of equipments you can create
-Elemental damage engine
-tons of monsters and bosses you can hunts
-fully attachment system, every equipment you use will show
-sharpness system, every weapon has it sharpness shown in it's charges, if the sharpness reduced by half, it will only deal 50% of the damage, and so on.
sharpness can be increased again with a whetstone
-monsters will drop item instead of gold
-tons of items that has it's own functionality
-crafting system, create an equipment with items that dropped from monster
example:
Agito(great sword)
requires :
-Bone Sword +
-3 Piscine Jaw
-5 Big Monster Bone
-there's no abilities for the heroes
-no attribute system, attribute changed to this :
Strength = Attack (increase damage by 1)
Agility = Endurance (increase armor by 0.5)
Intelligence = Stamina (increase maximum energy(mana) by 100)
The hero's starting hitpoints are 1000, cannot be increased.
Energy regenerate 2.5xStamina every second, Stamina reduced by half
when you walk for some distance, can be increased by eat a meat
-cooking system in order to fulfil stamina
-combining system, which combine items to make it useful
example:
-Green Herb + Blue Mushroom = Potion
-Potion + Honey = Potion [M]
etc.
-fishing system, you can sell the fish for gold or eat it to increase your stamina
-teamwork quest, teamwork is very essential in this game, only the host can take quests
-4 players (or maybe more if you want to)
In order to fulfil the features above, i need someone with a good JASS and vJASS knowledge, since i dont know anything about it.
Progress:
Terrain=20%
Systems=65%(many systems i don't know in mh3 thx to supertoinkz)
Items=8%
Monsters=4%
Quests=0%
Current member:
Myself : Allrounder, but tiny knowledge on JASS
Midnighters : Part Time Allrounder
supertoinkz : modeller for monsters, and giving me alot of MH knowledge
Furby : Creating AI system ATM
Crimson-Guard : Tester and such ....
this is only the beggining, PM me if you want to join, Attachment Modeler and JASSer are needed the most.
Since the attachment system fully shows your equipment from head to feet, it needs a good attachment modeler, you can find some of equipment models from the MH wiki above.

Ahh at last, this is the demo map
This map is untested in multiplayer version
Map Update !
- added weapon sharpness bar
- added multiboard information about the hero's resistances
- added a roll ability, which is :
cause your hero to roll to the left or right side of him, evading any damage taken.
- added a kick ability, which is :
kick monsters in front of the hero, stunning it for 5 seconds.
- Great Sword weapon classes
- added combine, the combining system is only the demo, try combining "Herb" with "Blue Mushroom"
- Forest and Hills terrain 95% Done
- Implemented a little of AI to the monsters
Try typing "DeftheLynn is awesome" in the game, and you'll be rewarded !
