@Hell_Master: What Almia is saying is that the winner of the merit badge isn't #SOLO.

I heard that the number of winners isn't fixed on 6 btw. It can change based on various factors. Nobody (except the admins) knows the exact details though.

Kind of. It is similar to the "Respected User" award, as a tribute to the legacy they left on the hive. They are usually a bit more sentimental, and often decided by admins/staff.

The merit badge is community based.

Remember that the merit badge is rewarded to multiple users (with a cutoff range), so a tie for the top votes does not necessarily have significance.
