Hmm I don't think that an editor delete your map. The possible thing I know is, if you save this map as the normal folder with the name "LastCreatedMap" and you open another map and save it under a different name, the "LastCreateMap" will be over-write with the last saved map.

Else an editor can't delete a map, only broke it - but not delete.

Let me check for possible solutions in my memory bank.

1. Is the map a frozen throne map and is your Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne
2. Did you check if the file type shown is RoC or TFT
3. Have you located and YaRly any ORly birds in your hard drive

Your map only gone if you saved it in the folder "Maps" with the name "LastCreatedMap". If you open another map and save it anywhere, than this map will saved automatic as "LastCreatedMap" to.

I don't know why, but it is so ....

But I don't hope that your map is lost! - maybe you renamed it one time and you searching under the old name? You didn't move the folder/map to another place?
Or you don't see the map, if you try to open it with Warcraft III in singleplayer or multiplayer? - If yes: maybe you put the folder in a wrong place, where Warcraft III can't find it?

A map is never gone without any reason - and the only way I know how a map can lost, is the saving thing. I also guess you don't delete it or reinstall your computer and wondering where it is gone ;)
