Are you asking about how he casts his spells in the human campaigns? I'ts been a long time since I played it but I would guess that if the AI doesn't do it randomly then they are just triggered. The triggered spell casts could be based from any number of different arbitrary events.

No. It is done via trigger through a replace unit function and effects.

One of them turns a unit of specific race into a unit of specific type.
The other slowly turns a unit invisible and then removes it.

However, it is possible to detect when the ability is used and then increment a variable. Then you can later use that variable for a custom system that calls back zombies or something similar.
