Is it possible to link up 2 single maps? Looking to be able to move units between two maps and be able to build on both maps and move the units back and forth.

Are you creating a campaign or online multiplayer map?
If you're creating an online map, you might want to create a big sized map,
then create all the terrain for both of your "maps" or rather call them: "area's" and then use a visibility modifier to cover the area which the unit is not in.
And vice versa...
If your creating a campaign, you can use the campaign editor in order to shift between maps.
