I had an idea and I think if I worked on it a tiny bit over my Christmas then I could finish a simple map for once in my life :p
Anywho- bttp.

Plot- You control the "hero";"protagonist";"spherical ball of shimmering light that represents an anonymous being benefiting the cause at hand"!
How exciting? Correct.
You are here to plant plants and other stuff like that in order to get more experienced in handling Kritters.
The more experienced you are, the more exotic Kritter eggs you can buy from Wohwutdahek.
If you attract the rare mystery beast you win, but you can always keep playing and care for your Kritters.

Gameplay:
Goal- collect up to 35 Kritters at one time, gain level 100 and attract the mystery beast.
Control the hero (wisp model, called the Keeper named Deeps) and care for your Kritters to gain levels. When a plant is harvested (killed) it drops 2 things first it's product second experience.
collect new critters and when you do, you'll get experience.

Kilfurlulz- Demonic Familiar Model (pyramidhe@d) ~ Turns food into ash when picked up. Predator.
Puttahexonju- Frog Model ~ Eats flying insect Kritters. Predator.
Umshorom- Toadstool Model (Callahan) ~ Kills its consumer. Prey.

I haven't come up with an idea for the mystery beast so I'll rep you if I decide to use your idea for the mystery beast or if you come up with a REALLY good idea for a plant/Kritter.

I know how to spell critter.

It's a title such as:

Krusty Krab
rather than crusty crab.

I'm not retarded. I was just trying to make some catchy name lol.
i've begun work on it.

64x64 map. village tileset. (i'm going to edit that.)
I started work on the Keeper (the hero)
if anyone has suggestions on some model imports that would be good for kritters let me know.

The levels are used as an unlock system. they don't affect anything else.
CHECK THE FIRST POST FOR UPDATE!!!
No screenshots yet... terrain is not worked on at all, i'm working out game mechanics, etc. first. getting a larger list of Kritters and plants, etc. before i work the terrain.

Produces: Owakka (thunder lizard egg model, delicious and well-liked food)
How rare: Medium, needs certain things to be planted/ to grow (you can decide)

Name of Kritter: Derka
Produces: Derkling (nerubian model)

Model: Crypt Lord
Rarity : Low if Wakkas are present, otherwise very high

Name of Kritter: Derkling

Predator/Prey (eats wakkas and other plants)
Model: Nerubian
Rarity: N/A since it comes from Derka

lol you can change the names if you want :D, the Wakkas make delicious food but it's presence attract Derkas and they will eat it as well as other plants. It would be nice to have a cause/effect type thing xD

Duuuuuuude, get rid of levels, levels suck. Especially when they go over 10.

Nah, depends on how you create/use it.
Btw, don't know if you will do it, but make it multi player?
So you'll need more then just 64x64 terrain. Single Player maps are not even 1/10th of the fun you could have in multi player.

EDIT:

The Zawugar Shroom:
Produces: Zawugar Seeds (Shimmerweed MDL?)
The Zawugar Shroom is considered to be a dangerous fungus.
They grow out of thin air.

Zawugan Kritter:
Eats Zawugar Seeds and is very hostile to other plant eating Kritters.
He will kill other plant eating Kritters on sight, Zawugans could pose a threat to your Kritter Garden.

Galligan Plant:
Produces: Galligan Bugs
The Galligan Plant can be seeded everywhere but the presence of Derklings [bestoboy post] will prevent these to grow.

Galligan Bugs:
These little creatures eat Zawugar Shrooms, Galligan bugs are also a common food for hungry bug eating Klitters.
Galligan Bugs usually grow to large numbers and prevent the growth of hostile fungi.
