After the summoning of Archimonde in the city of Dalaran:

"Arthas: This has got to be a joke! What happens to us now?"
"Kel'Thuzad: Be patient, young death knight. The Lich King foresaw this as well. You may yet have a part to play in his grand design."

Kel'thuzad was once a renowned archmage of the Kirin Tor, celebrated for his mastery of arcane magic. However, his obsession with forbidden dark arts and necromancy led to his exile from Dalaran by Antonidas, who disapproved of his dangerous pursuits.

In his relentless quest for greater power, Kel'thuzad made a pact with the Lich King, selling his soul to serve the master of the Scourge. He became a prominent and ruthless necromancer, orchestrating the spread of a deadly plague across Lordaeron.
During his campaign, he encountered Prince Arthas Menethil. Despite a quick chase and Kel'thuzad’s death at the hands of Arthas and his allies, his influence endured. His words and actions planted a dark seed that contributed to Arthas’s eventual fall to the Scourge.

Later, after Arthas had claimed the cursed runeblade Frostmourne and betrayed his own people, he helped in the resurrection of Kel'thuzad as a powerful lich. As the archlich of the Scourge, he played a pivotal role in the fall of Lordaeron, the rise of the Lich King, and the invasion of Azeroth. From his cryptic lair in Naxxramas, Kel'thuzad commanded armies of undead, leading campaigns against the Nerubian kingdoms, the defenders of Azeroth, and the trolls of Zul’Drak.

Based on a mix between the classic model, Shadowlands model and various artworks.
Per request from the community, one version uses a mix of textures for a more WoW like appearance and the other makes use of the HeroLich texture
to match the already existing WC3 Lich.

Of course, I played well. I'm KEL'THU-FREAKING-ZAD!

Otherwise, like! It's always refreshing to see new models on HIVE!
I heard he always wanted to start his own legion, and apparently so he did!
Noooice. Looks like based on his HotS appearance, isn't he? Very well done SD+ rendition.

A mix really between official artwork of him, Shadowlands, classic WoW and some artistic license to make him feel more Warcraft-y.

Did you use the OG Lich proportions? seems a little short xD

Amazing work

He's actually a bit taller than the original Lich with his cowl and large shoulderpads making him look a bit smaller. His core design is based on the normal lich to keep his proportions in the same Epic style as the rest of the games models. His hands are however a little bit bigger to reflect his WoW Classic model

Obey the call! So glad you finally uploaded him! He is one of my favorite characters. However, there is a slight problem: the lower jaw needs to be bound to a 'jaw' bone. Comparison screenshot below: red is the original model, green is edited.
By the way, have you seen Araj the Summoner? It is also a great lich model.

Good catch!
Saw him when he was uploaded, really great model
Edit: Fixed!

I like the mesh and the texture choice. My criticism, based on personal preference, is that I find the face a little washed out/understated compared to the original Lich and find the model SD+ as the armor has been given a significantly bulkier, voluminous outline, albeit a nice one.

Unfortunately, for a fan of the Undead setting and their legendary heroes, I don't find anything new other than the exterior redesign of the vanilla Lich 🤷‍♂️ Because I want more from this model and I think so, because my expectations are very high after your previous works, and it's your fault!

As the model is based on Kel'thuzad from WoW rather than an interpretation of how he could look in Warcraft 3 I decided to go for a bulkier and visually interesting design to make him "pop" a little when used in a map. Simply bulking out the base lich (which I also tried at first) made him disappear a little among other liches and units and also made the use and point of the model less valid. A good suggestion about the face though.

As Kel'thuzad simply is a larger and bulkier lich compared to his lesser brethren I'm not sure what else I could include. I might look into an extra animation or two to give him some extra love but apart from that I'd say there's not much I could or would like to do to change him too much from his original design and purpose. I don't really want to make him as flashy as the HD design either as they look more like Heroes of Might and Magic 6 Liches and waaaay of from the WC3 Epic style.

The model is fantastic. Lacking in animations. Only one attack animation is not optimal. Hope to see some more added.
The original lich also only has one and it's not something I personally is too bothered with. As stated in the reply to Villagerino though, something I could look into.

Edit: Added a secondary/alternative version of him with the WC3 Lich skin instead of the skeleton-looking one.

I know custom animations can be difficult especially to make them nice and smooth but still dynamic although I think custom anims would probably be an "easy" or at least big way of differentiating him from other Lich's even if it is just his attack and spell anims that are different :)
