Journey for Water
(Download)After the elven village has been beset by a dreadful tornado and the ground rendered barren overnight, Kael and his tribe wrap up their few remaining belongings and set out to seek a new home. There is hearsay about a green idyll to the north Kael's great-grandfather is purported to once have discovered in his prime. Alas, to put their plan into action, they need to cross the singularly beautiful, yet evenly dangerous white desert.
[BOX]
The elves' possessions are stored in magical boxes pulled through the desert by three powerful juggernauts. The boxes function as shops but more items can be obtained from the environment.
You are to escort the caravan and make sure at least one of the juggernauts makes it to the end. Depending on your player slot, you play one of three classes: Warrior, Ranger or Priest, each with different abilities.
Kael leads the party towards their destination. He emits replenishing auras restoring both health and energy.

Gameplay information:
It's a very simple map, featuring standard spells and fauna. The idea is similar to the Orc caravan mission from the classic Warcraft III campaign. You must make sure that the kotos (here juggernauts) survive while they make their advance. You can block Kael and the juggernauts partially with your units in order to slow them down. Moreover, you are advised to explore the area, searching for valuable items that you can use or sell and to preempt creeps lurking around expeditiously. The player heroes have an infinite amount of reincarnation at their disposal but reviving costs you time during which you cannot protect the caravan.
Development information:
Next to my flagship projects, there is a multitude of small ones and those that did not leave conception stage, where I just wanted to try out some things. Instead of casting them to oblivion, I thought I might as well upload them here gradually - visible and in a central place. Maybe there emerges opportunity to refine them later. This map was from a Mapmaking Challenge.
