Jass won't let me test maps.

I'm very confused. I just downloaded Jass, but when I go to test my map, It minimizes my world editor, and nothing happens. I'm probably missing a step here, or I forgot to read something, but I would love some help.

If you're talking of Jass NewGen pack, then you have to save your map before testing. It's a small limitation.

Well, I tried saving too. Same thing happens.

EDIT: If I save it and drop it in my WC3 map folder, and then run WC3 it works then, but that's kinda slow. :/

EDIT 2: I guess my problem is that the Jass world editor tries to start up NewGen Warcraft which won't run.

The standard procedure is that you save the map (Ctrl + S) and then hit the test button (F9) directly in the World Editor. If that does not work for you, please clarify your problem.

Here is what I do. I start up we.bat (In my newgen folder), it opens the world editor fine. I open any map that I have with it, save it, then use the test button. However, once I get to that step, the World Editor just minimizes, the cursor swaps to a "loading..." one, then stops. Nothing at all starts up.

Uh.. I am not an expert in NewGen config stuff, so somebody else might need to help you.
However I always just start "NewGen We.exe" and no .bat files and it works well.

When I try and start "NewGen WE.exe" it doesn't start. Neither does NewGen Warcraft.exe.

Edit: Jass just isn't worth the trouble. If I make any changes, makes my maps I save unplayable.

As a rough guess, you have allowed your anti-virus software to mangle JNGP. As such it will no longer work as a lot of it has been deleted/destroyed.

You may also have the following problems.
* Obsolete pJASS compiler. The one bundled with the last official JNGP release was buggy and excluded the new hashtable natives. Download the latest version and extract the new native list directly from the patch mpq.
* JNGP has not been registered correctly or is improperly set up. Make sure it knows where WC3 is and also that you run the various registry bats it comes with.
* Your map has syntax errors in it and so cannot be saved. Make sure only correct script is present.
* You forgot to disable the standard WE syntax checker which will break the map script if run with pJASS (which is needed for vJASS triggers).
