Item Bug or smth...

hy, I created an Item which gives holder lifesteal effect...
I created custom lifesteal effect with custom buff, and then added it to the item. But sometimes when I buy that item, the lifesteal and buff doesn't works...
I moved the lifesteal ability to the first place in item, still sometimes it fails...

What could cause this?

Aura might no be able to target the holder.

i set the area of effect to 10 (so only the hero holding the item have the effects...)
But, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't works... So, it can target the holder..

Buffs do not stack, you might already have a ability that gives the same buff.

I dont have the ability that have same buff.... I think I fixed it... needed to increase the Area of Effect :D

You are aware how small that is in WC3? Like you found out, it was so small it did not include the caster.

To prevent it leaking onto nearby friendly units who "cuddle" the unit you should set targets allowed to self. Vampirism aura will not work on ranged units, it only leaches melee life, in my experience at least.

While this may not be the cause of the problem, be aware that even though you create a "new" original buff, it is still based off a "standard" buff, so they both share same "buff id" and because of that, they will not stack.

For example, make 2 copies of Inner fire and modify one's buff (base it off Inner fire as well, but change for example icon, description, etc.). You will see that one buff replaces buff from the other spell. Usually the newer/stronger one prevails (not sure what defines which one is stronger though)
