Is there a way to attach a map to a private message?

Pretty much title, but the box is notably missing from the conversations.

There's an "Upload File" button right next to Post Reply. It has the same text box you use when you post in the forums.

While I believe you, for me it just shows Post Reply and More Options. If I click on More Options it shows Reply to Conversation or Preview.

Probably a permissions thing. It's likely that only staff can attach stuff in private conversations.

In the meantime, you can use the pastebin to upload whatever you need to upload. Set the expiry date to never if you want it there permanently.

I'd LOVE to be able to attach things to PMs... But would that present an undue strain on the site?

I think it would. Do people even have a quota of storage anymore? If not, you could potentially have unlimited PMs with unlimited files.

You can make it so it uses pastebin. In fact, it makes sense to me that all user owned files (e.g. attachments in threads?) will be in one central place. Then you can implement a tiny API to get file names / extensions, or whatever. Of course, that's work.

Pastebin and conversation files are stored in the same system. The only difference is that when you open the pastebin you see all your files in a single place and can remove old shit.

I mean that it will BE pastebin.
So when you attach files to a thread (or whatever), it creates a pastebin entry with these files, as if the user made it manually and linked it. Then the API to keep showing lists of files in attachments, rather than a link.
