A lot of people say the world's not fair and you got to live with it, but some say the world is fair, what you give is what you get.

What is true?

World's fair or not?

i'd say some parts is and some part isn't like karma, they say "what goes around comes around" (what you do is what you get) but other things like being the oldest sibling or the youngest sibling, its not fair, you don't choose, you just get it and you live with it.

A way I suppose it could be fair would be that , our ancestor's and all life started as the same thing according to evolution. ( I think it's been awhile) The ones that did better ,and worked harder got the reward of having offspring. The better they performed the better the life the offspring were offered. As this continues the ones that made choices forces their offspring's life to be less , or more forunate then others. That's why it could be fair in that sense.

However, on the side of not fair. I could go to the hospital and strangle a baby that was just born. Since the baby had no chance it wouldn't be fair , it was just born and could not do anything.

Though if everything started as the same thing it would be fair , since we were all just one same unit. Though it gets really deep and morals come into play so it's hard just to give a simple answer to this question.

Yes its someones fault they are born with aids, and or contract a deadly disease in a blood transfusion.

It's fair children are killed by their parents neglect.
It's fair that the gap between rich and poor is impossible to even comprehend by either extreme.
It's fair that people are judged because of their skin/gender/nationality.
Life is fair that some drunk bastard runs over a boy on his bike.
Life is fair that some crazy fuck cuts off your head on a bus for no reason.
Its so fair for a little girl that gets raped by her uncle.
Life must be fair when a jet falls from the sky onto a preschool.
Must be so fair for all the people who lost loved ones from roadside bombs/suicide bombers/car bombs/crazy fucks/freak accidents.

Really fair.

It's so fair that I as a white male get no support however my friend get free uni and doesn't pay taxes because of her nationality/gender.
It's so fair that my cousin gets paid to go to uni because his mom is poor and single but if it had been a single father he wouldn't be going to uni for free.
Life is really fair when cancer pops up in your brain and you die leaving two kids and a wife to fend on her own. Real fair, asshole.

Life is not fair. Anybody who says it is, is trying to make themselves feel better about the way things are going for them. Look at the kid who wrote Eragon. TERRIBLE BOOK, but since his parents owned a publishing company, the kid gets his book published AND a movie made for it. There are so many better books that haven't had movies made for them it's not even funny.

Somebody kills you because you believe in something that doesn't affect them in any way what so ever. Sound fair? Somebody kills you because father is a cop. Sounds fair?
Your born ugly because your parents were ugly. Sound fair? There are ways to make things more fair, but as long as parents have different morals and monetary foundations, life will not be fair. Don't tell me a rich kid doesn't have a major advantage over a poor kid. Even in America, you have to pay for college. Poor kid has to work for 10 years just to pay for his college while rich kid goes to whatever college he wants and doesn't have to work for 1 second.

I disagree. I think life is fair even though my life is not as good as it can be. Everything I do is my own fault. I'm the one who's lazy, i'm the one who chooses to be ignorant, not life.

so it would be fair if someone randomly kills you on the bus for no reason.
Or if your house catches on fire because of a malfunction with something inside of it and your family all dies except you?

Life doesn't really exist. Can you smell life? Can you touch life? Can you eat life?

Sure, someone will say something like: "I touched a baby full of life, thus i touched life". But no, you didn't. You touched a baby. Life is not living, no matter how ironical it sounds, thus, it cannot be fair or just.

If i had to describe the world and the periods between the births and the deaths of it's inhabitants, I'd say its a sum of complete randomness. Like a game of cards. You get what you get, try to use it the best way you can. Some people get a royal flush, some get nothing.

the world is a "fair" place. The world wont listen to your complaints and you sure wont listen to its complaints. It lets us be how we like and it lets us think how we like. There is no universal force in the world that is forcing you to do stuff.

life, on the other hand, is fair depending on how you see life. Myself, I think life is fair. Its not "Life"s fault the children are starving in africa. Its not "Life"s fault that the 2 world wars started. Its not "Life"s fault that some random guy shot you. If you can name one single "evil" deed that "Life" has done, you will win Infinite Internets

No, because life is a concept. It isn't something physical, it's something conceived by a mind to clarify our perception of the world.

The world is fair in the manner that it is free from bias. Everything that happens happens completely at random. Unless there exists an omnipotent being like a deity who creates a set of laws or morals for us to abide by. Then the world's inhabitants are given bias, and, by extension, unfairness.
If you consider fairness to be freedom from dishonesty and injustice, that would be a matter of opinion.

"Life" is fair, survival of the fittest. Situations that happen in those lives tend to be completely arbitrary, and generally the ones that suck suck hard. Let's throw out a tame example, my college admission was lost in the equivalent of production hell for almost three months, and I started college a week behind, without even knowing what books I need for all my classes, let alone having them. A good portion of the time my admission was stuck was that some idiot couldn't figure out that my ACT and SAT scores were on my transcript. I met the fucking index score (it was 93 and my highschool GPA and ACT/SAT scores give me 106), I was theoretically a shoo-in. Except, some moron in International Affairs couldn't figure out that they DID get my ACT/SAT scores, right there on my fucking transcript.

Do you people honostly have nothing better to do than post retarded threads like this?

"Why do you live?"

"Is the world fair?"

"Are you single?"

Wtf?

And for the question. No. It is not fair. Because some people are born in poor countries while others are born rich, is that fair? Fuck no. Some people are born deformed and mutated because their retarded parents decided to do crack while they were pregnant. Is that fair? Not for the child no.

They didnt choose to be the way they are, other people are BORN with an advantage. Life is not fair.

Life will never be a good business: you will never get as much as you give, and you have to believe that the few good things you get is more than enough to be happy. Those who think the world is fair, they are content with the few things that life gives them, others need more and say it's unfair... within these there are the few ambitious enough to try and get some profit from life, but it's a difficult path to take.

In case you weren't aware, the average age of chat-active (and likely forum-active as well) THW users is 14. Most people that age don't have anything better to do. Not because they're losers, they're just 14. Also the "Why do you live?" thread was at least not started with (entirely) juvenile intentions.

Oh, life is not fair. Neither is it unfair. These can not exist, since we all are just almost random constellations of atoms, working together to create cells, that ultimatly create an illusion that anything matters. It does not. We are no different from rocks, we are just made so that we can think we are.

Life is Life.

Exactly, you can not know what will come up next, Unless you're me Except in some situations that you caused yourself. Lets say a project is going fine, no problems..BUT something immedietly pops out of no where, and makes the project go to waste. Did you know that was coming? No, unless you did it yourself. Or did something that caused it to do that.

What's the definition of fair? Everybody has the same opportunities? If the world would be fair, everybody would have to be exactly the same person, with the same intellect, physical strength and so on. And don't we like to be individuals?

Life in its essence is useless. But its what you make of it that will determine the satisfaction you get out of it. You are born for one inevitable purpose that is to die. Jest make sure from those two points you do what makes you happy or makes you satisfied. For me its the American dream a loving wife, 2 kids, fast car, dog, cat, a nice 2 story house in a grate community. I will work for my dream and when i or if i have it ill be satisfied if i don't reach those goals then for me life was a wast.
