Is it possible to change buff used by an ability

Is it possible to have say, Rain of Fire changes the buff it uses from Rain of Fire to Shadow Strike?

Or change Shadow Strike buff to Roar for future casts with triggers?

No, you'll have to switch the Abilities and likely rely on Dummy units.

I think this would be possible with Engineering Upgrade. But that would be a permanent change to the ability instance unless EU can now be un-applied.
