Original Thread Here
This is the summer continuation of the original map review thread (the first on Hive, iirc, since after mine came many others, but I never noticed any beforehand). This time, I have a new review system and a much different policy on handling reviews.
Rules
1. Only users with 0 or higher reputation (no negrep users) are eligible to request a map.
2. You must have either at least 25 posts OR 5 reputation to request a map.
3. Users with 50 or more posts AND 10 or more reputation can request that their own map be reviewed; otherwise you may only request a map someone else made.
4. I will decide which maps to review. If I don't feel like playing it, there's no way you could possibly force me to do otherwise.
5. Do not whine if your map is reviewed and given a bad score. I will PM the owner of each requested map if possible, telling the owner that their map might be reviewed. The owner is able to deny the review at any time before it is posted.
6. Multiple requests for the same map (from different people) will bump the map up the queue so it will be reviewed sooner.

Fun (X/10)
Enjoyment (X/4): How enjoyable playing the map is. This is extremely important.
Thrill (X/2): How well the map can get your heart pumping, or at least interested.
X-Factor (X/3): The charm/epicness and memorable-ness of the map. This can make a huge difference.
Coolness (X/1): How cool the map is. This is a general term. Getting a low score here means the map is awkward.
Gameplay (X/10)
Balancing (X/2): How even the map is. If a specific object or player has a stupid advantage/disadvantage, this score will be low.
Replayability (X/4): VERY important - this is the measure of how slowly the map gets old.
Dynamics (X/2): How well the map varies its play and keeps it relevant, effective, and such.
Flow/Progression (X/2): How well the map's flow of gameplay (things leading to victory or defeat) works. This score also includes how well the map gives a sense of progression, from start to finish.
Originality (X/5)
Freshness (X/2): How fresh the map's take on the genre is. If it creates a new genre, this score will almost certainly be the full 2 or higher.
Novelty (X/1): Does the map add something to the genre? Not getting a 1 or higher here is a bad sign. Unoriginal maps, especially clones, will have highly negative numbers here.
Creativity (X/2): Does the map take advantage of its position by introducing the greatest variety it can get away with? If so, this score will be high.
Polish (X/5)
Quality (X/2): How well put-together the map is.
Optimization (X/1): If the map runs badly, this score will be low.
Immersion (X/2): Does the map make you definitely feel "in the game"? If so, this score will be high.
Scoring: Fun and Gameplay are out of 10, while Polish and Originality are out of 5. There are a total 14 subcategories, each with various maximum scores that add up to make the category score. These sub-categories can have scores above their maximum if the game is unusually excellent in that area, and their scores can go below 0 if they are the map is unbelievably awful in said area. The bug level is simply a number from 0-10 of how bad the bugs were in the game. Lower numbers are generally a count, larger numbers are an approximation because I will lose count by then. If the bugs are just unbelievably ridiculous, I'll add a SECOND layer to the bug level bar so that the number will go to 11-20, and so on. A map receiving a bug level of 20 is pretty much unplayable, anyways. The three checkboxes are basic qualities of the map I'm looking for. It must not cause crashes (doesn't count if its a generic WC3 crash - it has to be a reproducible crash in order to count against you), it must have credits, and you must be able to reach a reasonable victory/defeat, or victory/defeat box (finishing the map) through normal gameplay. If you're missing one of the checkboxes, your score will be severely impacted. If you're missing more than one, I will not grade the map at all. Merits and Demerits go below the checkboxes, and will change based on the map. Some only have one level, some have two, and a couple have up to three levels of quality/awfulness. The section also expands to hold greater amounts of merits and demerits, if needed. The final grade of the map is shown through an "experience bar"-like graphic, and a letter grade. This ranges from F- to A+, and then to S for maps that are ridiculously good and receive well over the regular maximum score. Sadly, I don't think that I will ever get to use S.
Edit: Added maximum scores to the review images, changes max grade to S from R.
