Hell...people only respond to them if they have a trivia bot in their clan channel...

1 in 100? That's being rather optimistic. Seems like the only way to get a map popular, is to find a big name map makers, steal one of his maps, make it "733t" with imbalances so that experienced players can slaughter people whio dont know all the secrets and call them "pwning n00bs" when they win, and immature humor/imported files and slap your name on it. Even the worlds best mappers dont get their maps on bnet. There doesnt seem to be any real guidline that does, minus what I mentioned above. This goes for all servers.

And heaven forbid that you host a map that actually takes more then one try to master....

Lol so true, so many dota and tag type games on uswest. The only way your going to make your map popular or fun or to try to get other people to play it is, to host it yourself and play it a lot of times, Ive done that only with a few, gets boring though over and over. Most reasons why people dont host maps its cause they still dont know how to configure firewalls ports, or there connections are very slow(56k)or they dont like it, as for most 56kers, they would host small maps like sheep tag or something under 150kb since 56k limit upload is 5kb/sec. Thats how i was with dialup ,never hosted anything above 300kb. Since i have dsl now, i host prety much anything 100kb-4mb. Never liked dota, gets awefully boring over time, as goes for tob. Would like to see new types of maps. Anyway im like the only person that host different type of maps here lol, any new map that was submitted to this site , i usually go play it online, like to see whats its about.

Bnet is boring...the only clans people actually know are MaP, MaPz, and MaPs...honestly. Now i'm alot more interested in behind-the-scenes action like modeling, skinning, and hacking the map editor... I go on every once in a while. I even found a way to have a video loading screen. When i spread it on the net people are like "wtf dat r0ckz0r wat ur a 1337 haxz0r trin to n00b me". I must admit I am a member of MaP though. I wish they would have a higher filesize limit than 5 mb. People actually get scared from hacking threats. Like 9-31 year old people playing warcraft III for hours every day can actually hack a Blizzard game server. I design games independently with my own code language, better graphics than OpenGL and XBox, yet i'm only 11. spreading lame maps on bnet just seems pretty empty nowadays...

-its just a great multiplayer map
-its so fun to play with your friends

well i dont play on battle.net anymore really, but the actual set up for it is pretty nice. its just they need some good quality maps, and not just rigged games left and right. thats really the problem is that every time you get some noob host who rigged the game, and half the time it didnt work right or overloads the game, or is just useless. any way you look at it, it used to be good but now its just plain annoying.

DoBRP is cool im telling you! Still, you need to read all he triggers and understand. For that, i suggest that you learn in single-player and not in multi-player;

1) cause people will call you noob for shure and you will make bad figure.
2) Cause its useless, people will just see that you are a newbie and you cant learn well.

There are maaany commands that you may learn and it can be really cool. If you want, dl one of the terrains at www.warcraftrpers.com (its useless trying to download from battle.net).

Ladder Games.
Most of us all agree the ladder games posted on battle.net are crap, so stop playing them.
Just try some ladder games, once you get good you will definatly like them. You rarly find a hacker.
If you think 1v1 or something is boaring, get a friend(s) and play a 2v2,3v3,or 4v4 arranged
