Update 1 (Most Recent):
Added more solar glows/lighting, stronger explosive rays, and particles exploding away from the planet.

I decided to give a non-playable terrain a try, so this is a planet about to pop. Constructive criticism is much appreciated.

This is awesome. You could use more of the Light from above object in UTM 4 with certain pitch angles to be used in those cracks to emphasize more the planet's violent 'eruption'.
The planet's right side needs a bit more glow shinning on it. There could also be made smaller 'planet' fragments (Fingolfin's asteroid models are good for that) flying away from the planet.
Also you could use fainter larger glow objects in front of the star to make it shine accordingly. As for the moons, well glow added on their sides facing the star.

Nice idea btw :)

I really don't like the planets. First off they don't fit right, and second planets are never that close (afaik).

Love the rest of it though. Really creative idea and the execution is really well done on the exploding planet.

I'll give a shot at making galaxies and resort to pushing the planets back if that plan fails miserably. Maybe I'll even come up with something else in the meantime :prazz:
