When i play some fullscreen games ( warcraft 3 ) my computer chances the monitor resolution from 1024x768 pixels to 800x600 pixels during the game! why is that?? how can i fix it?
please help

That is weird if it's in the middle of the game.


I thought you couldn't do that unless you modify the menu

It's perfectly fine.

It's because some games are meant to play on that resolution. Your computer just changes to that resolution automaticly when playing a game that is beyond/under your standard desktop resolution. It also explains the weird visual effects when alt-tabbing from a game to your desktop (like a not-fully maximized folder).

But you can change the gamesettings so it'll be played off in non-fullscreen mode. Works perfect when you need to do other stuff too. Warcraft and third-party tools, you have to wait so you alt-tab to a forum, you name it.

how can i chance that non-fullscreen mode?

Right click on your desktop Warcraft III shortcut and go to Properties.

Now go to the Target box (where you can type in)

and change the:
"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe"
into
"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" -window

(or any other drive you got (D:\, E:\ etc))

Blizzard should add an option to switch to window mode or play fullscreen, IMO
