Hi everyone, I downloaded version 1.30.4 and when I opened the game the texts appeared altered, it is worth mentioning that I changed the language through Regedit to Spanish (esES), that worked for me with 1.30.1 however with this version the same thing does not happen, help :goblin_cry: .

I never heard this thing before, but the other people also faced this similar issue.

Basically, the altered texts you were seen in that picture might be related to the corrupted string files. The same thing also applies to the World Editor. When you attempt to start the WE, you'll notice that everything was replaced with the "WESTRING" texts. These are intended to change based on your game's Language setting. So it could find English or Spanish or Russian or Chinese or whatever, depending on your game version. There's even a thread regarding WESTRING problems in World Editor, which can be found here.

@Ravager16829 Yes, the same thing happens with the editor, I just checked the link and it says that it installed a different file. Now I don't know what file can be added, modified or replaced to fix this, with 1.30.1 or 1.31 this didn't happen to me (despite having downloaded it in English).

It's a peculiar case

Update: After modifying or replacing files I did trial and error several times, even guided by several hive threads, and finally, the game was in Spanish with voices and texts. I was happy, however, happiness left me in less than 1 minute when I discovered that the World Editor was a mess, I still haven't found the solution.
How frustrating...

By the way, these are the files I have for the game:

Yeah everyone has this problem since Patch 1.30 (6 years ago) I believe.

WESTRING issues in the World Editor shouldn't stop you from doing anything. That issues might be related to the ones that Blizzard didn't fix on the later versions of WC3, specifically 1.30 and 1.31, along with all the other WE and even the game-related crashes and stuff introduced with those versions. Patches 1.30 and 1.31 were made with all the Reforged storage format and features to help get people excited for Reforged and used to the new features. Since it is stored in the modern CASC storage system that is meant to be always checked against the online version, the only languages that work would probably be the ones loaded from the Blizzard server by whoever played that install before you when it was live, who then gave it to you or something.

Speaking of the WESTRING problems you mentioned here, there seems to be a missing language files (for your case, the Spanish) inside the CASC file. For the legacy builds, they are stored in the "War3xLocal.mpq" file, iirc. Therefore, I'm assuming that your game seems to be corrupted.

Also, it seems that you have 2 versions of Warcraft III currently existing in your system, right? tulee suggested that you shouldn't use multiple versions of WC3 in your system, as it might led to an unwanted issues with your game, specifically the registries.

@Ravager16829 Yes, you are right in what you say, after trying to fix it I gave up, and looked for someone who had it in Spanish, luckily I found it, although I would have liked to have fixed it.
