Hey guys, I am working on a new project after some years. Back then I had no problem with dummy units, but now they are way to visible using the known old ways.

I did everything like explained in an often used tutorial: Model file: Unit - missles: Flying machine (yes the one that is not the bomb), Locust ability, Scaling 0.1 etc

Surprisingly the shadow is still displayed, although I turned it off.

Also, very annoyingly the animation sound is still there, although i turned the sound of the unit off.

Is this problem new and if yes, does someone has a solution? Or am I missing something

Flying machine model? Never heard of using that before, must be some old tech.

You can simply do this (any missing model path will work):

Or import a Dummy model if you want to take advantage of the dummy unit's Attachment Points:

Also, I recommend basing it on the Locust and making the following changes:
Attacks Enabled = None, Movement Type = None, Speed Base: 0.

These are important if you want your Dummy unit to cast spells instantly. HOWEVER, if you need the Dummy unit to move around then this Movement Type won't work, which is usually only necessary for custom triggered missiles from back in the day (we can now use Special Effects instead).

Note the date of what you read, I've found that a lot of information made before ~2018 is misinformed or out of date.
