Hellfire RPG - the first look

As nobody knows, Im making my first BIG (I have others unfinished) project - Hellfire RPG

The work is still in progress, and It won't be done soon, but still I will tell you about some features here.

This RPG takes place in the future, on the unknown alien planet, when the UEA (United Earth Alliance) started researching it. You are a new recruit and it is your destiny to learn all of the mysteries of the planet.

I tried not to make alot of boring stories, as everyone as me DO NOT READ stories in the RPG and MMORPG usually.

New Features
  • This game will include low sized sounds of guns and also marine radio talks. For example, the size of Shotgun shot is 3,76kb

Main features of the game:
  • The game consists of alot of islands and all of the quests usually take place on the island you took it so you wont be lost.
  • Max Level Cap is 100. This should be enough to explore all of the planet.
  • As in all games, this game would include items colored by quality, although it wont be hard to get even the best ones.
  • This game will include only 2 types of weapons: Guns and Focusing Weapons (Sword and Orb).
  • At the last level, all clases can pick one of 5 elite spells, that has uber power.
  • The game includes Four starting classes and Eight secondary classes. The starting class can evolve to secondary at level 50. This picture will show the "evolution" of classes:

  • Ive already made some starting places of the game: Moonchill Island (Sniper) and Finterdowns (Marine)

  • This game will include Dummies. You can test your new skills on them and see how much damage you've done. (Dummies are highlighted on the picture)

  • Each island will have at least small town. Some of them will have a war with some faction on the island or throughout the planet. That's the war camp on the Skull Island. (Still no war on this picture)

  • This RPG should include normal dungeons. They will work pretty good, would have events inside them and some puzzles and fantastic treasures. One of the first dungeon is Blood Mines

Now alittle about classes:

Warlock

Probably the most interesting class in the game, as the UEA do not have any magic powers and nobody knows how they got this power.

  • Warlock should be the Self-Enchanting, DPS class.
  • This is the only (at the moment) class that weilds Focusing weapon.
  • The spells that always will be with you even at secondary classes would be:

    Enchant - Ehcnahts warlock's weapon, making it easier to weild and swing with it. Increases attack speed by 40% for 10 seconds. Mana - 50, CD - 20 seconds

    Phy Defense - Activates warlock's Shield Power. This shield will defend the owner, healing 1HP every 1 second and adding 10 armor to warlock for 10 seconds, but decreases damage done by 15%. Mana - 40, CD - 10 seconds.

Medic

Still in develop, ill just tell you how the techinique works:
  • Instead of attack, medics have to attack teammates and instead of damagin them, they heal them (Healing increases by level). Medics will also have Mech Pet. The ability will randomly summon 1 of 5 pets (Still in develop).

    Medic, healing a teammate

Engineer

Same as medic (Not how it works, how its developed):
  • Engineers can build alot of interesting stuff to fight, one of the best ability is Summon a Sentry - It will summon a powerful sentry on the marked place for some time that will attack nearby enemies.

In the conclusion:

As you see, the game is developing, but I hope to finish is as soon as possible. If you have questions - post them here or PM me. And, the credist will be given in the game, especially to Talon the Mage for Konstrukt items

New Class Features!

After a long thought, and alittle experiment, I finally decided the playable classes, "evolutions", names and, of course, purpose of each of them.

Firstly, the evolution tree:

Scout -> Medic, Engineer

Soldier -> Assaulter, Iron Man

Warlock -> Proph (Forcer Before), Wizard

Sniper -> Stalker, Ghost



Scout/Medic/Engineer

One of a hardest class to play, still, alittle interesting build.
The features of Scout
  • Uses Shotgun as a weapon (100% speed, 100% dmg)
  • The fastest starting class (120% speed)
  • Mostly the Survival skills (Self upgrading, traps, bombs)
  • Will include 1 skill of engineer and 1 of medic: Triple (Increases damage for period of time) and Smoke Bomb (Throws bomb at the feet, stopping EVERYONE around scout)

Medic
  • Uses Mediguns as a weapon (Heal instead of damage)
  • Speed is 100%
  • Skills are Buffing and Healing
  • Even if Medic is a healer, he would have a Mech Pet that can do all the killing for him (Pet depends on level), also has some Survival skills if he is in a bad situation (Bombs and Self-buffs)

Engineer
  • Uses Shotgun as a weapon (100% speed and 100% dmg)
  • Fastest of secondary classes NOT including transforms - 115% speed
  • Uses Defensive and Offensive skills
  • Main skills are Summoning. The best of them is Summon Sentry, which summons a sentry that is rooted to the ground for short period of time, it hurts people! (Depends on question answered - Rocket, Coilgun or Machinegun)


Warlock/Proph/Wizard

The most interesting class to play in my opinion.
The features of Warlock
  • Uses Focusing weapon as a weapon (200% dmg, 50% speed)
  • 100% Speed
  • Uses Damaging and Enchanting skills (Killing stuff)
  • 2 skills from secondary classes: Enchant (Increases damage for period of time) and Phy Defense (Armor and HP Regen Up). Warlock DO NOT use bombs and traps

Proph
  • Uses Focusing weapon as a weapon (200% dmg, 50% speed)
  • Speed is 100%
  • Skills are Buffing and Enchanting (Help people and self)
  • The class with biggest choose of buffs - really useful in battle (Although uses alot of mana, there are special weapons and armor right for this class), but do not use Bombs and Traps

Wizard
  • Uses Focusing weapon as a weapon (200% dmg, 50% speed)
  • Speed is 100%
  • Skills are Damaging (Killing people)
  • One of the biggest DPS classes in th games (Also uses protection skills, like, Absorb Shield), but do not use Bombs and Traps.


The information about others and the screenshots would be uploaded fast, as soon as exams finish.

I see you play Team Fortress 2, mister "Axtinguisher."

Anyway, the game looks pretty good. But the screenshots still take forever. I hope it's as good as it seems and not just good terraining.

It looks to me like alot of thought is being put into the terraining, it does look like an rpg should. I really like it, keep it up.

I find www.photobucket.com works for me when I want to host images. As it stands I had to open the image links in a new window and then wait a while for them to load... but I did it anyways because they were totally worth checking out

*Sigh* Is everybody but me going to make an RPG. It does look good, but there's like 10,000 out there and unless yours has something amazingly cool, I don't see it standing out.

Some advice I'd give you that would seperate your RPG from 99% of others. Make it fast paced! Non-stop action. Make everything fast fast fast. Most RPG's are so slow I can work on my map while I walk to my next location or attack a monster for 2 minutes...

You Want news? Okay:

I've finished Scout, Sniper and Warlock, now its on to Marine and secondary classes, but it wont be hard as I've got their stats on paper.

Alot of quests have been done, also to make a new quests it takes copy'b'paste (3 minutes), so It will be done soon on other islands.

Alot of islands made (6 if to be actually, 2 of them not "triggered"). The most interesting one is Area 13: Its like Chernobyl (Yah, yah, Stalker..), after the island collapsed, Nuclear Reactor was devided into 2 parts: the other one felt into the island core, and 2nd one created a big nuclear blast that caused alot of radiation on Area 13. And, you cant enter Area until you get Hydro Costume (Quest) - very powerful item that absorbs most of the radiation.

Added Inventory system. All the items you pick up move to your inventory on the top-left of the map. Type -i to go there and pick up or drop everything you want, and -b to go back at the same place you left.

ADDED: MODELS CHANGED! Now Warlock is Draenei, sniper got model that suits him and marine is heavy-lookin' guy.

Oh, and of course, Dungeons. As you know there's Already (levels below or bigger than needed cant enter dungeons):
- Bloodmines (10-20), a cursed place full of deadly disease BLOD.
- Elecnir (20-30), a ruins of city of Elecnir. After the collapse it was left, and only few stayed there that became zombies.
- Steaming Halls (30-40), a dungeon very close to the island core. Very hot, alot of fire creatures and alot of untouched treasure.
- Hellfire Core (100), the last dungeon, the creator of the collapse live there (You will see story in the campaign).

Dont worry, the map is in progress, and I havent told much of things here.

Well no wonder you haven't updated your thread, you've actually been hard at work on content. That's a welcome change from most projects lol

The conceptual story for the game is great, I like a bit of fantasy mixed in with my sci-fi... and thanks for the update, keeps sounding better and better

Im looking forward for it, also i think the sword model is cool and you dont need to replace it (WH40k!) xD

i think you should decrease the class upgrade to something like 30-40 because
1: people could try other classes out without to have to level so high
2: makes the gameplay more fun
3: less boring
this is unless its takes almost nothing experience to level up O.^

Seems similar to Hellgate London, mostly because of the magic-flinging, focus weapon wielding Warlock. Oh, the name, too.

Sounds cool, though. I love games/maps with a unique theme, especially RPGs that don't have any goblins or elves.

Well actually i'd say, that the only way to make statements like that without having a 55% chance to be wrong, is to wait 'til the map is out. We need to playtest it before we can really determine how awesome it is, nomatter the terrain or original concept. And THAT, is a fact.
