Halo Battle Grounds

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This map started from scratch, I was justing wanting to play a good halo game. It started from being just a joke and into this. Ive only been working on this map for like a month or two, but it has really paid off.

Your either a Spartan or a Elite, the two army's are both fighting for a reason. And your gonna be right in the middle of all of this. The first player of your team will command the army and every one else will be the ultimate soldier. You have to make it through the rugged terrain, deadly defenses and the worst, the Flood. They are allied to no one, they kill every one. Worst case scenario is your leader either goes vigilante and gets him self killed or the flood decide to only attack you.

Instructions:
-Kill your your enemy's leader and protect your own.
-Kill their generator to destroy all their base defense.
-You get gold automatically but you can get some from killing flood.
-Brute Marine is better than massing regular Marines

Hints:
-Always remember that there is always a way to turn the tide of power, you just have to find it.

I don't think keeping up with updates is worth the hassle, so ill tell you what I'm going to do next.

V 1.1
I'm going to add a lot more terrain, another team witch is going flood (combined with the already spawning flood), when I make the map larger I will make the bases kind of outposts and make the real bases really far back. I will add more terrain and change the whole generator system, I will also add other bonuses and goodies that I will only post here. Once I get all this done Ill take advice and change stuff, but for now im busy with terrain.

Update:
Hah... epic size isn't gonna be big enough.. CRAP! Oh and srry for posting a bunch of replies to every ones replys. Oh and General Frank rocks! I'm gonna use another of his models for the wraith (its the only thing that can do it justice). Further I get into making it the more screen shots I'm going to take, I'm putting those screen shots into a album.

Popular Request Responses: I noticed that a lot of you want the flood to be able to infect, so I thought when I make flood heroes I will give them a ability that will be able to infect enemy units. So is that ok?

Ash: This map, if you can call it that, isn't the best. It aims out to be a strategy game from the Halo universe, although includes little to no story, for example; 'they're fighting for sum reason', and, as many maps seem to do these days, has little regards for balance.

The terrain isn't much to be proud of, the only real 'artistic' area is Fort Ranik -- something from the Guild Wars universe, I feel inclinded to add -- and the creator seems to of lost inspiration to cover other areas after that.

The river area often stops larger vehicles from passing and is, in all honesty, serves no other purpose but to be an ugly add on.

You've then got the fact that, for some reason, the Human leader isn't ranged and often dies because of this. Whilst we're on the subject of death I feel inclined to add that there is no notice telling you that your hero revives; players often leave because of this.

All in all this map isn't anything to be proud of, yet. You must sort out the hideous balance, and the even hideouser landscape -- Yes, that is a word -- and everything should fall into place. Good Luck.

As it stands, though, the map is unacceptable in my eyes. The majority of the map is unused and things can be exploited so easily. However, it is still playable, thus I'm approving it.

Ok, first off, id make the people turn into flood when they die. Also id make the flood a player with a small base and make them have a second attack to attack air vehicles. Also, id make the terrain better and the map needs to be bigger. Its kinda small for a big battle. Having mountains, rivers, and hilltops for strategic use and purposed that could generate money if you capture it. Also the covie could use better models. there is an elite model out there so download it and put it on your map. If i were you i would make the map again on a bigger board and rethink the way you win the game. Also if you destroy the power generators that means youve already won? Right. If your that far into the base its over. Make it a bigger map. And the power gens could be small outposts that you have to defend. Also, the marine model for the brute marine could be better. No sound : (. Overall it is a decent map that could use a lot of work and rethinking. I wont rate it until a finished version comes out. If you need technical help i could post it here for you on the people becoming flood and such. Keep it up, this could become something way better than what it is. Take my advice and think about what i said.

And i just read the comment on the top lol, so plz disregard that part lol.

I reckon you should have those little floods that get inside people and infect them. Heres my idea for it.

Model- Unless you can find some cool custom model I think sludge monstrositys scaled down would be good for it.

Spells/What it does- They should have a customised parasite spell called 'Infect' or something which can instantly or over the course of maybe 5 seconds turn someone into a flood combat form, spawning a different type of flood depending on what it 'infects'. You could think about using a custom spell that makes it look like it's jumping onto the victim. They should also die upon activation of the spell.

Costs/Build time/Spawn rate- If you were thinking of how much they cost you could have them costing either a tincy wincy bit for one or a bit more for a group of about 12 or so of them, I think the second idea is better personally. I don't think they should take too long to build, perhaps 10-20 seconds? I'm not sure it really depends on the balancing of the game. If you were to have all units just spawn every now and then you could have a dozen spawn with each flood spawn.

Another idea would be to be able to load them into a flood carrier form, basiclly have it with a 12 space transport or something and only they can enter it. This way, when it dies a load of the smaller ones would burst out of it just like in the game.

Well there you have it. All other things that were up with the map have been pretty much said I guees.

Hope you like the idea!
