Game message

Is there a way to send a game message to players without that message going in the "log tab" found it think next to the allies tab at the top where you share gold. Not using Floating Text like game message or quest message?

You can try doing a transmission from a unit, or doing an ubersplat.

something that doesn't disturb the game. what's ubersplat? been seeing that on the world editor for years now but never really knew what it does.

I'd love to send you a great system that uses ubersplats instead of text messages, but wc3c.net is down. I haven't used them, but they have a lot of capacity for visual dynamism. I'm more interested in what my code looks like than decorating the fantasy-world generated by that code.

Ubersplats are blp pictures. There is a system in WC3C that uses a bunch of ubersplats, each of them depicting letters (A/B/C...) [I guess this is what Bribe is talking about]. Up to the input of the message, you can create the message via those ubersplats, which will actually place the ubersplat letters in a row, so that they form the mssage you wrote. I guess it uses table and some substring functions.

There's a way to disable Log as far as i know,i just cant remember where i saw it >.<
Hmm...there was some tutorial on TheHelper,try searching there...

The log only stores messages displayed in the game when it's being played in Single Player, no?

You can try using Deaod's improved TextSplats, but it requires knowledge of JASS.

Yep. I'm pretty sure it does.

I could be wrong but i'm fairly certain you can't move ubersplats so you can't really use them as a game message even if you manually figured out where to place the letters to make it appear as though they were on top of the screen

EDIT - nevermind, apparently you can (or maybe they just remove/create, I dunno)
