[Event]: 2012 - The Legendary Fight

Welcome to the Challenge Section and the new event that will be taking place within it.

2012: The Legendary Fight event calls all of you who want to challenge other members of Hiveworkshop in the biggest competition of all times!

People who are interested in participating will pick another Hiveworkshop member with whom they want to fight. The provoked member must confirm that they wish to challenge. After the deadline given, the two competitors will be judged and a winner shall be declared. After waiting for other competitors to finish their submissions as well, there comes the next phase, which contains the winners of the previous challenges. New winners will be declared and so on, until there's one left, who will be granted a spot at the Challenge Section Hall of Fame. " Every submission must follow Hiveworkshop's Rules and Resource Rules. " Each challenge cannot last more than 5 days, meaning that the deadline cannot exceed 5 days. " If a contestant does not post a submission on time, the member who is fighting with them will be automatically become the winner of that particular challenge. " Both contestants must challenge each other on the same type of resource; if they do not come to an agreement, someone else (e.g. myself) will pick the resource type, which of course falls into their modding abilities. " Each user may participate in only one challenge at a time. " A judge cannot be a participant at the same time. Grand Winner: A golden award icon on their profile, 1st place at the Challenge Section Hall of Fame and 120 Reputation Points. Second Winner: A silver award icon on their profile, 2nd place at the Challenge Section Hall of Fame and 70 Reputation Points.

This event will begin, when it attracts enough activity.

That is correct.

There will be a sticky thread, called Challenge Section Hall of Fame. Apart from the award icon, that winner will be placed in the top scored challengers.

I'll probably make it so that consecutive wins in such events will make the winner get additional reputation, with an algorithm I'll be deciding later on.

I am willing to give this a go(if there is still enough animo for it). I can either do something with a spell or a cinematic piece I guess. Entire games in 5 days is a bit much in my books.

Just a question: Will there be grand champions for respective fields of competition (eg. writing, icon making, terraining and so on and so forth), or just a single grand champion overall? It'll be interesting to see how you guys decide on the ultimate winner.

And do we select a judge? Or do we send the submissions to someone?

I have a suggestion: there should be some system or rule which would stop masters like Oziris, fladd, Pharaoh, Morbid, and so on, from challenging some noob. something like balance system.

Personally I think there is already a rule for that. if a "noob" gets challenged by a more experienced mapper they can simple decline or agree, so it's up to them .

Chill, no one good will challenge a low experienced user. If so, it's up to the user to accept it or decline.

Good idea, but give reputations only to the winner seems pointless to me. The losers of finals should gain some rep too i think (something like 20-25 ?). And maybe give little rep to each winner of each challenge (1, 2 or 3 ?)

Except this, i wanna challenge some gui spell makers ^^ Maybe Tank-Commander or Desfkull or others.
