New Description (Due to an expansion) :
A two-genre map made by me (Strydhaizer/Stryderzero), a custom-melee game and a survival game in one map. A custom-melee map is inspired on the usual blizzard melee but with simpler techtree and faster training of units to have more actions than waiting. The artstyle and the environment is all fantasy, based on Diablo 3 and some other games with dark atmosphere. There is also a survival game which a player must survive on unlimited waves of enemies, the higher the wave level is, the stronger and enemies will be. This map has no plot and story and is not a multiplayer but rather focuses on single-player. Enjoy!.

An updated version of the Survival Mode can be played here. The new project with the same name is currently in development.

Eurica is a Single Player altered - melee map made by sole-map-maker Strydhaizer (previously known as "Stryderzero"). The map is inspired on original blizzard melee maps, but with simpler techtree and faster training system, the map also have a realistic environment and units that was made and edited perfectly to fit together. Not so different from the traditional melee system, you will still grab gold and lumbers as well as base expansions, however, resources are not scarce as you can earn bonuses and you are given five to ten times larger resources compared to original melee maps. I also made a natural storm weather system, which strikes anytime during the game, however it is just part of environment/atmosphere design, it does not affect any object, units or abilities in the game.

As of update 1.7.0x, the map is now a two-genre map. The survival mode has been added where you will defend yourself against unlimited wave of enemies. You're not only going to defend yourself but you also have to feed yourself as you increase your hunger every second.

-(Survival) Updated the shooting system with newer version (The one that will be used in the sequel of this project), it will now detect destructibles, no longer the bullets will pass through objects or walls. Trees will now react to bullet impacts.

-(Survival) When the survival hero picks up an item while the creeps are still spawning, the spawning will be stopped therefore some units will not spawn. This bug usually happens during wave 1 when player skips the timer and tries to pick up any item. (Not Gamebreaking)

12:52, 26th Jul 2015 Shadow Fury: The map is fantastic and very amusing. I highly recommend this game to everyone, especially to those who like games based on Empire Earth and Ages of Empire because this is a very better version of these two games.
i had expected much more from the gameplay. The tooltips were quite uninformative, and didn't clearly state the role of the units. There were an awful lot of units with active abilities, which made combat very micro-intensive, and i always felt like i didn't use the units to their full potential. To me, it is better to have multiple active abilities on one "spellcaster" unit type, than one on each unit. The autocast spells weren't set to "default active", which meant you had to manually activate them everytime a unit was trained.The race design felt a little incohesive, wtih a lot of unit models which didn't quite fit together visually. The lumber storage could not be used as an actual lumber drop-off, which didn't make sense, and there were like 5 upgrades in the whole map.

Thanks for pointing these stuffs Fing, i was waiting for you for a month and finally you are able to see (and test) it.

I already noted/listed all those suggestions/criticisms to the front page and i'll make sure i will improve the stuffs that you've pointed out.

For the news, i am working on the new version which have a couple of fixes/changes on gameplay, descriptions, unit's abilities, environment(graphics), and systems.

What's new on the next update is, there is a hero (YES!), new systems and probably a new unit, either the Megapult (a long-distance catapult, but has weak strength) or the Mage (which can raise dead units and has a magic attack type).

Hard work always pays :)

Keep updating man! As Fingolfin said, we're still not close to a DC for this. You need that *something more* a DC map gives which is really difficult to add. I myself can't suggest what it could be! What's for sure is that I will only think about a DC for this when every single person that tests this map is satisfied. As long as someone says "I didn't have much fun", you'll need to work harder :wink:
 
Great news , also what will happen with the epic units now that you are adding a hero ?
They are just it, the difference between epic units and hero is, epic units are unhealable but they are still considered as normal units, while hero is the most priority of the player though it is not also healable but it can be independent, they gain xp aswell.
 
I do not want to talk about DC anymore. I'll just do the things that i can do, i dont want to push myself on the level that i cannot really ........ yeah. I'm not mad anyway.

Eh, i'm not good on explaining stuffs, and i am not yet that good in speaking english to make a very long tutorial.

Your english is good enough as much as I see. Try a tutorial, even if its a crap one you can always improve it later (just like a map, make it now patch it later).

I always want to improve my maps in any way and by looking at your map, I see how much more I can learn from you or others in general.

That or you could just not bother lol which sucks for me and for you.

TBH my friend im not into zombie/survival maps and even less into melee maps but i like yours :)

Survival mode

Beautiful and atmospheric!

Suggestions
1)Reloading should require about 2 seconds, now its too fast. Reloading while running should also be possible. Maybe when you dont run you reload in 2 seconds but if you run you reload in 3-4 seconds.

2)I think its better if the light faces where you face instead on the side due to the gun looking at the side. Realistically you put light where you look. Right now you dont really see them coming from front because the light isnt there, it looks on the side. Maybe you could add the light on the helmet instead on the gun, or maybe on both. For example, players can start with light only on their helmet (which looks front) then find light to implement on their gun.

I dont recommend playing this map with *Always Show Health Bar* option enabled. It kind of ruins the game.

Sorry for my bad english if you dont understand something ill explain again.

That's the challenge for the player actually ;) Anyway, there's no way i can attach the flashlight on his head since the model itself lacks head attachment.

I may consider this one :). Infact, this feature was already added before (during v.1.6.0x i think) but removed for smoother movement.

Sadly this is glitched out, it keeps crashing my w3 randomly, and the only way to exit it after it gets blocked is to restart my machine. As far as ive gotten without the whole thing crashing is the selection menu, when I selected "survival" the game crashed. I have the 8mb limit remover & w3 1.26. I don't think it has anything to do with it but if I'm the only one with the problem it just might be that.
 
You may want to remove your mods first and try to add "-opengl" on the shortcut's parameter, like this.
And make sure you maxed out the graphics settings, my map crashes when you don't.

I updated the tags and description to comply with deepstrazs note to my wall a year ago (sorry i just recently returned from 4 years of inactivity)

You should not use all or so many tags for your maps but only leave the ones that actually fit:

Your map is now in the Template section because it has that tag too. Use the staff contact or the report button to have it moved in Maps and please don't use unnecessary tags.

I also fixed the broken tags, "" tag seems to be unsupported now.

after four years, this awesome map finally got an update.

No, the map didnt get an update, i only updated the thread lol (I had a notice about some minor map tagging violations so i had to change it). If there is a thing i need to change, please let me know. c:

Edit: After playing this again i realized there are still quite some bugs in here, unbalanced damages, unused units, and AI is disappointing. I really feel like developing a new one something like this. I still have no interest in adding new stuffs for this map considering it is years old but i can create a new one with smarter AI and better space for AI and Players to build (because this map is a mess, it is just way too small for building structures, editing it will be a total makeover to the terrain). Fingers crossed.

This map has very good terrain and overall visuals but I doubt the moderator even played it.

It basically has no gameplay, Survival mode looks like a spell template and melee mode is broken and looks like a terrain template

Suddenly, I feel like updating this map to support multiplayer since Warcraft III can now handle 256MB maps in multiplayer.

+ Multiplayer on Survival
+ Multiplayer on Altered Melee

Also, there will be major terrain updates (new tiles and environment textures, it will no longer use ripped Starcraft II textures, some minor updates in the structures/landmarks, changes in doodad placement, terrain tile pattern updates etc.).

- Fixed the team colors, due to patch 1.29 all the units with team color "Black" were set to brown, all units has been set to black team color again.
- Decreased hunger needs from every 3 seconds to every 6 seconds.

- Added WTII's gameplay at the main post.

I updated the bundle, the map is now 'open-source' - the map is no longer protected. You guys can now freely look at it in the editor. I do not allow replicas/reuploads of this map with my name (or any credits listed) removed, I do however allow people to maintain this map if you want to make this compatible in the future (so far it still works well in 1.32.8). Another reason why I made this open source is because this map is old, I just don't really have motivation to update this map myself anymore, but you can make personal edits of this map yourself.

Hey man, do you have an older version compatible with 1.26-1.27? i uninstalled the reforged client and have been using an older version for offline playing (i don't like being forced to go online to play offline, dont want 30gb of bloatware i won't ever touch either)
