Do emoticons piss anyone else off as much as they me? God I hate them AND of course most people who use them use like 5 per sentence. Don't mind my bitching lol.

Theyre alright for showing expressions, like say you say something that might come off mean, just put a smiley and they know you weren't trying to be mean.

Sometimes emoticons convey emotion just better than words can. Also, if emoticons are tacked on to the end of a sentence, you can usually tell if someone is being sarcastic or not.

I think the second one might now sound like:
haha, I hate you.
I think ithe example is a bit extreme ;P
But I agree that without I smiley it would have been a lot worse.

See I use haha. Although, now that i think about it, spamming haha is annoying too. So pretty much spamming anything in a sentence is annoying.
