[Crash] Editor crashing when loading map with custom models

Hi all,
I'm new here but I always loved the editor- creating cities or custom scenarios for myself, and this website has been a favorite of mine.
I have an issue with the editor crashing when loaded a map with imported assets.
When I attempt to test the map via the editor it loads fine, launching the map in-game works and everything is 100%, the issue is loading the map again after closing the editor.

I only use models made for reforged uploaded to this site (no BLPs involved), I tried running the editor in both SD and reforged modes and it's still crashing.
I found a couple of old threads on this (or a very similar issue) but couldn't find an answer. It's hard to believe talented map makers have this issue and create maps in one session, so it's probably something I'm doing wrong.

I've attached a map I made, an edited version of the melee map "The Crossroads" with a small Tauren camp and some custom models I downloaded from this site- again the map opens fine in-game, but crashes in the editor. (p.s. it's still displays as The Crossroad in-game since I forgot to update the description).

Thanks in advance, this issue is really making it hard to make maps, compared to other games like AOE:DE and AOM:Retold.

Hello, welcome to Hive.

So this issue is pretty annoying but there's ways to get around it.

For starters I used this tool to delete all of the imports in your map:
That allowed me to open the map again and save it (see attached map below).

From now on I suggest saving your map as a folder:
fold.png

This allows you to interact with it's contents outside of the World Editor, meaning you could delete bad imported files without needing to open the World Editor or use a fancy tool. It can also make the act of importing many files at once easier. IE: You could have an entirely separate folder filled with all of your assets, and copy those over IF the issue occurs again.

Unfortunately, I only know how to fix what's broken and am unsure of how to avoid the break in the first place.

Shame this is a known issue...
I didn't liked the MPQ editor but I found another software simply called "MapImportManager" which does what you suggested (strip maps of imported stuff, or add them) and I'll be sure to save maps as folders from now on.

Thanks Uncle!
