I made this mesh a while ago and then it turned out that I couldn't attatch it to the bones without failing. But then I found away around the fail and started to animate it. This is the birth animation so far, the speed is about half of the normal speed. Tell me what you think (both mesh and anim).

NICE :D Simple and useful, especially if you can use it as said for many tilesets ;)
Though you should add some dust to animation (know its been mentioned, meh), and I think it would look cool if the model itself wasn't so plain. Perhaps add a stone that points out from his body? Ears(LoL :p)? Maybe some triangles that look like grass on top of his body :p

don't know about "ears" x3 but the grass would kind-off interfere with Thriko's "use everywhere" idea.

Yeah rocks could work but not grass. I inted to upload it with all possible textures imported and give a tutorial on how to easily change the texture. Then you can do it on your own without having to ask someone else all the time (mostly me).

You might want to add more highlights signifying the eyes and different parts of the earth. And it looks flat. Seriously.

Instead of attatching .gif of all 14 anims I thought I'd attatch the model itself. It would be a lot easier to see it then. The anims look kinda lame in magos but if you view them in game they work pretty fine with the model.

So now I just need some hints on where I should add "more details". Cause when I like it as it is it's hard for me to come up with ways to make it better.

awesome model Thrik, but i think it needs particles that constantly fall from the face and or arms.

I could fix that. May look pretty nice.

Is the Stand portrait also the stand regular?

Yes it is. Appart from the Portrait Talk anim wich is only for the portrait.

<3 the morph anims.

Actually the Morph anim is the Birth anim in reverse only that it doesn't go all the way into the ground. And the Morph Alternate is the Morph anim in reverse (the Birth anim originating from the last state of the Morph anim). Anyway it work quite fine and it looks pretty nice in game to.

Work on a spell anim.

What? There is no spell anim.
EDIT: I thought you said work on the spell anim. So yeah I might. %P

well...
i think i saw some script over at wc3c.net that was called "dynamic texture swapping" or something like that...
i think it was by toadcop!
i dont exactly know what it does, but still, maybe i point you in the right direction.
if not, i'm sry...

I didn't find anything like that on Wc3c. Anyway it seems more like a tool that changes textures on the model rather than setting the texture to match the tileset.

I need some hints on what to do for a spell anim.

it could fire a root with part of grass attached and that attached part could be changeable with the texture, like he fires part of the ground, or some molten rock is attached with the lava tileset

This is awesome, just an idea but for a map, it could be a secret boss, hiding on the lordaeron ground ramp thingys. For a spell idea, it could've slammed the ground and have dust particles.
