Weird issue. I believe, some people had this problem (black screen on video), but they were able to hear the audio.

Have you tried installing the K-Lite Codec Pack? I'm pretty sure it's an off-topic thing, not related to Warcraft 3 issues, but still a good solution for you to fix the cinematic issue.

Fine, I found the problem but not the solution The problem occurs when changing the language and when changing it the dialogs and videos stop working, I will look for another way to change the language or I will directly reinstall it again

I recently installed WC3 because nostalgia and stumble upon this thread, it worked pretty well and I had fun doing the campaigns by myself again! But I was wondering how do I do Custom Campaigns? I installed some w3n files, created my own folder so I can compile them there. But they're not appearing

You must place the custom campaign (w3n files) inside "Documents\Warcraft III\Campaigns".
If the custom campaign doesn't visible in your game, then the campaign is only playable on the higher patches or there's something wrong about your download.

I'm still at work so I might try it later.

deepstrasz had commented that every custom maps and campaigns available in this site should definitely be played on the recommended version (the one it was made on) if it doesn't properly work on the certain patches. Playing them directly on the recommended patches is the best way to do to not find out what works and what not.

Side Note: Afaik, those 3 campaigns you were looking to play (The Last Guardian, Adventures of Rowan, Exodus) will probably require the latest patch of Reforged in order to play, although there's an older versions of The Last Guardian and Adventures of Rowan intended for pre-Reforged versions.

Hello there. Just registerd to thank you for preserving this game.
I have this problem: When starting the campaign, there are no dialogue and no unit sounds. Also, when I want to start the video starting the campaign, it goes directly back to the menu.
Changed my Launcher.db and my registry to "deDE" (had to create Classic Launcher\w3\Locale, as I had a "Warcraft 3" folder, but not "Classic Launcher" folder.
I really miss the old iconic sounds, so please help me

LAN seems to be bugged with this version due to the game always trying to connect to the official Blizzard server. Use 3rd party emulators like Radmin VPN.

Make sure the Bonjour service is enabled. This is a must for network play.

If you still encounter issues, downgrade to the older versions like 1.26 or 1.27. You can also play those versions on Battle.net, albeit not in the official server (like Eurobattle.net).

You must allow this game to be whitelisted to your Windows Firewall. Otherwise, you won't be able to play LAN with Radmin.

It's not the 1024x768 res-locked. Sure, the option to use the Widescreen resolution (16:9) is available with this version. However, the in-game main menu retains its traditional 4:3 with big black bars between it.

I'm not sure about this kind of problem, but please put your post in a separate one than this thread since you are using a different version of WC3. It's quite irrelevant to what the original author of this thread did (1.30).

I tested it. Also the first mission of the human campaign is without any voice, and all the units are also silent.... (I try to play it in German, if that helps)

I'm also trying to play in german and on 1.29+, but just can't get that combination to work. Especially I want to use the version from this thread, because (for whatever reason) this is the only version I ever ran, which doesn't have input lag.

I found this german patch and it at least adds german voicelines, but all text is missing. The menus work in german, but tooltips are missing and for example the text on the loading screen when loading into the campaign are also missing. Still playable, but annoying.

EDIT: Just to test, I tried the same thing in french and the same problem happens. I also found another bug: When launching into roc, the campaign doesn't even load. Just like all the other problems, this doesn't happen when using locale enUS. Well at least the german voicelines are active even if the locale is set to enUS (by using the patch I linked above and setting "Allow Local Files" to 1 in the Warcraft III registry), so I guess that level of nostalgia is enough and I'll just play with the english text.

The map and campaign files must be placed in the "Documents\Warcraft III\Maps" and "Documents\Warcraft III\Campaigns". You have to create both folders if don't exist.

Another reason for why your maps and campaigns aren't shown in game is incorrect version. Nowadays, most maps and campaigns (though not all) will require latest patch from Battle.net.

I wanted to ask if you've encountered the same error, but in the blood elf campaign, builders can't build or repair. What's more, in the night elf mission with blood elves against Illidan, blood elf builders can't do so either. This is the first time I've encountered this error in many years of playing WC3.

Campaigns and maps should go into "Documents\Warcraft III\Campaigns" and "Documents\Warcraft III\Maps".
If those folders don't exist, create them by yourself.

Just as some posters above, I can't seem to make any language work properly besides enUS. Interestingly enough enGB won't even launch, permanently stuck on black screen.

Tried it with three different locales - frFR, zhCH, and ruRU. The main menu is in a desired language but that's about it. Summarizing the list of issues:

• it skips the cinematics, presumably after failing to load them as there is a noticeable delay.
• the campaign mission loading time is abnormally long, again, presumably because it's attempting and failing to load the necessary assets.
• all units are mute, even their mouths won't open, during both cutscenes and gameplay. (the Chinese locale seems to be using the enUS voiceover, thus no one is mute anymore in cut scenes, during gameplay however the hero unit still is mute for some reason.)
• there are no subtitles, there are no objective updates, the Quest Dialog(F9) and Log(F12) both are empty.
• all unit abilities and actions have the same exact tool tip - "Tool tip is missing!"

Switching to RoC, it won't save your campaign profile, prompting you to create a new one upon each launch, hitching and freezing in the process. And it won't let you start the campaign anyway. The campaign selection screen doesn't fully load, only displaying an empty background with a difficulty dropdown menu, no campaign to select.

I've tried a myriad of registry edits and fixes, deleted the save and documents folders multiple times. As far as I can tell, this package is anything but Multi-Language.

My 1.30? It's the version from this very thread, completely unaltered. I would also like to know what's wrong with it. Hence why I'm posting here.

I'm strolling around different communities looking for info about playing the Classic version of the campaign (not Reforged) and it appears that versions between 1.29 and 1.31 (I think) were often mentioned as the most unstable and absolutely unhealthy for your sanity...

So far your post has been more detrimental to my sanity than anything else.

The solution is simple: revert your game version to more stable patch like 1.26a or 1.27b

If I was considering playing on 1.27 as a suitable solution, I probably wouldn't have made my previous post here in the first place, now would I?

Sorry for that mistake. It's not ChatGPT, bro. I'm just a regular user who answered your question in a normal way. And yes, Hive doesn't allow spams and other insults to be included. This must-have been programmed by the forum itself to prevent my account for getting banned.

From my observation, the game includes all available languages within its game storage (could it be MPQ or CASC). As such, no matter which version you have, all the required files are already in the game files. For some reason an unexpected bugs might occur if you attempt to change the language after the installation. The game seems to be detecting language of your OS and sets default language of the game based on this. This looks like the game fails to load non-English strings properly, because when you change game language, it doesn't update the game data. I could be wrong about your problem.

Pro Tip: The new CASC system allows you to have possible all language files downloaded if you cycle through languages in Blizzard App, but I don't really suggest using this method if you are using older versions for one reason: you are forced to download an additional 30GB updates of "Reforged", which requires a Battle.net login.

The campaign might not be compatible with your version. You need the latest Warcraft 3 patch.

I have a problem about opening my load saved game.....When I save a game and then close the app, restart my pc, open the app again, the saved game is corrupted or unplayable but if I just closed the app without restarting my pc then the saved file is working with no problem...Why is this happening?? It's still compatible. Use 3rd party tools like Radmin or Hamachi.

1.31 patch still works with those methods, but you have to download the appropriate LAN maps manually (not by in-game as it no longer works).
