So jeah.

I saw this picture, which shows diablo with his(her) body?

Or is it not diablo? I guess she is:

I can't feature out why they femalised Diablo? I mean, not that I have a problem with that and stuff, but I just don't get it lore wise. Maybe I just got something wrong.

Diablo can take shape into something different. In Diablo2 he looked different than in Diablo1 because he transformed from within the possessed body of the warrior who slew him. So in theory, Diablo doesn't have a true form. He always looks different depending on the body he is possessing.

Thus we are led to believe that Diablo will take posses of a woman and based of her body he will take form.

Its becase Diablo's well known form is horribly dated and unsuitable for modern games!111

Actually, its probably because the whole concept for Diablo's body was unsuitable for Blizzard DotA where he is a playable character. Thus he had to be made more human like to fit the play style. Hes a great big demon so as far as we know maybe male Diablo's just do look like that.

Remember that Diablo cannot be killed, and can only be banished back to hell. There is no true form for Diablo, "he" is more of an essence, a spirit if you will. The proof is that "his" form changed from Diablo 1 to Diablo 2. It was similar, but not exact, and while it could be chalked up to them just altering him because it's a new game, let's look at it in a way that makes sense eh?

Anyway, so when "he" chooses a male, "his" form is similar but slightly different compared to a different male vessel. When "he" chooses a female as "his" vessel, "his" form is still similar, but it takes on a form comparative to "his" vessel. Thus, if Diablo truly takes Leah as "his" vessel, the form is different, but similar.

Furthermore, we refer to god as a "he" but it is not really known if god (assuming god exists) is male or female. The same goes for Diablo. Diablo is simply an embodiment of terror, neither male nor female.

The feminine form is from Andarial. The molten mouth parts and chest are from Azmodan. The blades and extra arms are from Durial. The weird chest and arm structure is probably from Mephisto. The face and shoulder spikes are from Diablo. I am not sure which parts of him are from Belial and Baal but probably the shoulder mouths.

Although Diablo did poses Leah for some time she was only used for transportation as Imperius destroys her at the gates to heaven to reveal the Prime Evil.

Wait, I thought only the Prime Evils were locked in the Black Soulstone. Wasn't Andariel a Lesser Evil?

I still think the shape of the body is from Leah.

Edhel-dur, Blizzard has revised the lore.

Prime Evils - Baal, Mephisto and Diablo
Lesser Evils - Belial, Azmodan, Andariel and Durial

The only difference between the two is that the Prime Evils came from the 3 larger heads of the dragon that decayed to form hell while the lesser evils came from the other 4 smaller heads.

The styles of Blizzard's games have become too similar over the years: powerful builds, enormous shoulderpads, fists and weapons for the good guys (Thrall, Varian, Jim Raynor, Tyrael) and spiky, slender look for the bad guys (Sindragosa, even Deathwing, the hydralisk, Diablo). Oh, and tattered skin and wings. Come on, Diablo looks like a cross between Deathwing and a hydralisk, really.

Ha ! Never noticed that.

@DSG, the 4 arms are from Andariel. She had 4 arms, not Duriel. The slender/feminine body is from Leah.

Well Diablo's design is pretty good.

But I have to ask, so how was Leah the vessel of Diablo, that I didn't get. I mean, Diablo was possesing the Wanderer when he f***** Adria. But, like, shouldn't that be the son/daughter of Diablo rather than a clone of some sorts?

As far as I am aware Duriel was the only one of them to have blades for arms. All the rest had claws. Thus although the arms may be from Andariel, the blades on one of the pairs are from Duriel.

The black soul stone captured the souls of all evils. If the soul stone was used on just anyone the victim would be torn apart by the conflicting evils inside (as all evils would fight for control and as they are mostly equally powerful there would be no winner). However because Leah had at least part of Diablo in her it meant that Diablo would be dominant and have control over the power of all evils.

Ah yeah, claws from Duriel. But 4 arms from Andariel! : P

About story, it makes little to no sense to me. I understand what you are saying there, but it's just... arghhhhh. But I won't judge it. I feel that the story (this time around) is good, especially the one surrounding Tyrael.

All I can hope is that Tyrael becomes an angel again in the expansions. I know he is doing it to prove a point but we have already lost Cain and I do not want to see him go. Of course that depends on how mortal he really is as it seems his sword gives him super human ability (he recovered instantly from fatal injuries).

It looks like they took a page out of Alien vs. Predator with Diablo. He doesn't even look intimidating, what a silly prime evil.
