Well, fresh news.

Activision owned studio - Vicarious Visions has just been absorbed by Blizzard. This is the studio that was rumored to be working on the Diablo 2 remaster. To make things a bit more spicy, Jason Schreier, a Bloomberg gaming journalist that is usually very well informed, has recently confirmed these rumors, so...

There's a virtual Blizzcon in a month - I think it's reasonable to expect the announcement to happen there.

Diablo 2 Remastered reconcepted as Diablo II Reforged, including:

1. A whole new graphics with unfinished models, and some models missing, and weird lighting due to high player expectations;
2. Only two Classes playable, not to confuse players with too many;
3. Many builds not working, not to confuse players with too many builds;
4. Act 3 removed, slowing the play time to focus on replayability;
5. Act 5 will be added eventually post release;
6. Game being unplayable due to a huge number of bugs, constant crashes and desincs, terrible performance, what can they do when the players had too high expectations.
