Defender of Arcane Modding

This model was created on the evening of April 1, 2024.

Although the model would appear to be nothing super fancy, it was created using a new feature of Retera Model Studio created for April Fools Day to allow seamless porting of weapons between different Reforged models, so that the weapons do not "float away" from the character's hands, and thus do not require fixing.

This seamless weapon porting technology parodies countless hours spent by Retera Model Studio users who could have simply written the same algorithm that I did (it only took four hours) to modify all keyframes in the entire model when using "Set Parent" so that the model visually remains the same while the parent of a node is changed prior to an animation transfer.

Let us hope they already wrote this seamless weapon link feature into Twilac Fork years ago while I wasn't looking, because otherwise this April Fool's parody might be all-too-real for a very small, very select group of people who really "get it."

If it weren't for the algorithm used to make this model being something new, it would otherwise be a fairly mundane merge of a Sorceress and a Footman, but with the current state of technology today this model might be able to get approval as though it were made using human effort rather than automation. Perhaps in a good future, when the automation becomes easily publicly available, future users will scoff at this model for being too simple to be worth uploading (since anyone could make it pseudo-instantly).

She is the Defender of Arcane Modding who fights in favor of users to think smarter, not harder.

For next year's April Fools prank (2025), we upgrade the shaders on "View in 3D" so that it looks visually as good as Retera Model Studio.

Edit:
For the 2026 April Fools prank, maybe we can port Diablo 2 Resurrect PKBs into Reforged and suddenly gain access to all the magical Diablo 2 sorceress ability art as custom graphics to put on Reforged. That way, this Defender of Arcane Modding can run around on a Reforged map and cast some D2R sorceress magic to blow away some gnolls, or something.
