Death Grip

I got the idea from this scene:

2017-12-14_04-21-25-gif.286951

A replacement for the Keeper of the Grove's Entangling Roots.

28/06/2016 Update: Aligned the hands a little up forward from the base to fit better around the target.
04/08/2020 Update: Added a z-locked version of the model with a slightly larger scaling, meaning that the hands will always face the front wherever you look at.

Keywords:
Death, Grip, Hand, Claw, Entangle, Root, Hold, Trap, Undead, Druid, Grim.

I remember that i've made a model with the same concept back when i was starting making effects but that one wasn't half as good as this model. I must say that your model is perfect in both visual and technical aspects.

I'd proudly rate this 5\5 and hope mod will agree on this and give your effect 5 stars.

P.S. The name is also pretty much perfect, ha-ha.

This is very useful, I wonder if a skeleton version is possible..

I actually did try a skeleton rewrap, but it didn't turn out pretty, and overall the hand is too fat to look bony, so I didn't try it further.

Come now, Direfury. He's obviously talking about the gaping holes in the wrists. What is that about?

The original mesh used for this has those same holes, I don't understand why are people paying attention to those now really.

Where did you get that Warden model?
If you're asking where, I don't remember anymore sadly, but it's the SC2 Warden model basically, exported for wc3.

I'm using this model in my map as a "ward" type unit that grabs units. So you have to hit it to release the grip, but people are saying it's really hard to click in my game. Could you make the hitbox larger?
The "hitbox" is actually pretty large in relation to the model:

That blue prism is basically the hitbox or clickbox (This is called collision) around the model, which allows you to click on it. However, if you wish to modify it, you could try doing that yourself by modifying a simple value using Magos' Model Editor.

Try this tutorial to understand more about collision shapes.

Interesting, i didn't know how to do it.
I might check this out later, because i have a bunch of models with really shitty hitbox.

As for the model, i've had problems clicking it during gameplay and i've set the model scale to 2.0.
Other players then myself have had similiar problems.
Looking at your animation though i can see that the blue box is.. spinning? seems wierd.

My bad, I forgot that version I made unofficially was axis locked, so when I was rotating only the hitbox was changing.

Here's a better view:
