Size is huge because there are many vertices, that's the main problem with it. However, this is easy to solve by using MDX squisher before you import it into your map, it will basically make the size 3 times smaller when imported.

I suggest you should use another method to make this model, it 'll reduced file size greatly. May be using some ribbon instead

I agree with this, as nice as it looks, it could've looked almost the same if you used a ribbon. However, that might be a bit harder to animate, but you should read some tutorials and try it, nevertheless.
