Covenant Energy Sword

The Covenant Energy Blade, a nasty toll to rip through the enemy ranks as the Covenant fights towards victory!

If the energy effect does no work upon using in WE, go into Magos> Materials>find the one that goes to the blade itself, not the handle, and set the Animated Texture ID and set it for all four in the same Material. That should allow the energy effect on the blade. For some reason, upon opening in Magos, the program gets rid of this setting D: I have no clue how to make the energy effect permanent. Sorry.

1. add some texture animation to the blade. It will look much more magic-ly

Perhaps you weren't reading the description when I mentioned it, and told how to activate it... -.-

2. maybe some fitting particles
I tried. Couldn't get it to work. I discovered that the entire thing would become a blur if I kept the particles. But, I did try.

I forgot to read it :/

and about the particles. Just select add alpha as the material mode and reduce their visiblity. That should remove the blur :)

to give it a texture animation, convert it to mdl, open it in notepad and near the top find the section labeled "Materials # {" then find the material you want to animate and put

"TVertexAnimId 0,"

in it on the last line before the next } sign, so it should (for example) go

hope it helps, could be a useful attachment

ALSO, i would suggest using the texture "UI/water/A_Water00.blp or N_Water00, the ocean.blp texture is nice, but it is too detailed and subtle. the 2 mentioned above have more variation and so you can see the ripples better (especially from a distance)

OH, OR, you can edit the UV to make it reference a smaller area, so the ripples will be larger

I already HAVE an energy sword model, it's just not posted. Though i must say, from what i can see this version looks better. I did mine in vertex modify, and it was also one of my first models. That doesn't usually make a good combo.



EDIT: By the way, if anyone wants to make an elite model for this, i have a finished texture that i can hand out.
 
still waiting for that help I was offered on making the animated texture remain... D:

Magos is bugged on texture anims. You have to do it in notepad. Save the texture anim in magos, then save as mdl, and look for the texture animation id thingy. There is a tutorial here somewhere.

i thought i did D: ... well, I have had absolutely no luck in getting it to work, and i have a State-wide math test tomarrow (such wierd timing...) to prepare for... So, I haven't had much free time lately D: So I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me with this model.

unfortunately, when my hard-drive crashed (infinite loading loop before mouse ever appears), I had to mirror all my data to a new one. I lost all my programs in that process. And, that meant links as well D: So, My best help would be the name. And I believe it is called Warcraft 3 Unlimited. It is owned by Zerox

Well, for this model, you use it as an attachment. Simply put, you make a custom item out of it, set the parameters and abilities as you want, and assign it to an attachment point ("Arm, Right" as two seperate attachment names, I think. Set number of attachment points to 1) and set it up to appear in-game. There are official tutorials I would recommend looking up, as they cover this in a much better quality.

Just because the moderators aprove something doesnt mean it works, once i had to tell gen frank of a troll model he approved caused fatals in world editor..... n the person who said ur model doesnt show up is right. i tried it in world editor just now and it didnt show up.

guys ... i really want to say that it is pretty good, but it appears only a green box ... restarted the editor and even a green box , and i think i cant import it wrong cause i need only to import it and nothing else
someoneelse with such a problem?

then you can ask the mods about it. It worked for me... and it worked for them. I don't think the sword is choosing its users...

Looks good just 1 problem it doesn't show up ingame so it has item just doesn't show
