Command&Conquer: Zero Hour <>Project Info<>

I like Command & Conquer very much and exspecialy generals (zero hour).. i have planned to start a project about it to bring C&C into wc3.. i will make 3 campaign 3 for each race (USA; GLA and CHINA)

For now i will leave it at this point just as an info..

i also want to mention that i will or could need some help by making this project.. some1 who is good at making spells to help me with some things and maybe some other people just post in here what u can do good or want to help

needed: some previous skills in world editor
u must have wc3 ;)
u should have command & conquer or a minimum u must know the game good...
and some knowladge in jass..

for now i dont need any help cause i havent much time to stat it now but at the end of this week my holidays are starting i think i will start to amke an intro of my projekt.. after it i could need some help of u guys and i also will post more infos on the projekt just post in this treat if u are interested and i will remeber u and write u an email or a PM

Other than the jass skills, I played command and conqour, command and conqour red alert, command and conqour red alert aftermath, command and conqour red alert 2, command and conqour Tiberian sun, and command and conqour renegade. also I have been making quite a few maps (unreleased yet for all the maps piled up) and so I have had some xp. So whats the job?

hmm i dont know im ont it.. i can extract them out of zero hour but i have one problem i cant animate them.. :( it will be look great if i could use these models the feeling would be neraly the same like in the real game thats what im planning a good map (campaign) that its worth to play =) some of the models i have tested to extract have already some animations left but i cant use them.. dex exporter dont export them too... and i cant save them.. maybe im too dumb i have read some tuts but it wont work.. and it also dont work to make new ones :(.. so maybe one could explain it to me or i need someone wh can animate them.. anyway thx for the posts till now i see some lil interesting for the project is already given =)

@matt540.. great i have played, all series of command and conquer.. =) thx for your help i will pm u if i need it, ok? but first i want to make the first map, the intro mainly without help.. just with some of my friend cause he know jass and thats the mainly point of the intro i think... i have big plans for it :p i will keep u in mind and write to u if i need u and i will need ur help :p

mh just one question:

Why do you want to remake a great strategy game based off the engine of another great game ?

I mean you will never do as good as the original C&C just because they have a way better engine then wc3 (for their purposes)

Just to think about before you start this bunch of work

i know.. i just like both games surely c&c has better engine for it cause its based for it.. wc3 is based on another engine but its flexible as u can see on lots of funmaps posted on this site or hosted at battle.net... but just as fun u know? ^^ its also sensless to make first person shooter or other styles in wc3 but they still exist and it makes fun to play them.. and i like to see maps which have good things on it like good spells and stuff. on this u can see that very much is possible in wc3.. i just want to try how it looks and want to play a c&c mod in wc3 =)

and maybe i make some funmaps with the models or such... just a lil more like the campaign but mainly i want to make a great intro ;) i also can do a td or such with the models but i think the best think i could do is the campaign maybe i add some special missions or make a totaly new one we will see :p

nope i dont saw any c&c maps like tds or such... could be that some1 has already done some tds and stuff... but first i will leave it at the intro.. and then i will start to make the first campaigns... maybe some special missions or some linked minigames or tds just to increase the fun to play it ;)

Well, if you want my opinion, I think using unanimated ZH models is far better then using original WC3 models (having a steam tank rolling around with the name "paladin tank" or a meat wagon rolling around with the name "scorpion tank" just does not cut it in my book). You can get away with it so long as you mainly use tanks, since WC3 doesnt have simultanious shoot & move capabilities anyways for units like C&C does, you wont need to worry whether the turrets move or not. That is, unless you plan to have new ZH-related models custom made for WC3, then that would be a notable feat.

And yes, there have been TD maps for Zero Hour (but no other C&C games, although it technically possible to make one for Red Alert 2)

sure.. when i exracted them from the game some have stand animations some have attack animations but they wont be saved... i dont know how to save them .. the model has also bones so it should be work... when i add a new one to it it isnt saved too... thats annoying me cuz i did all right like in the tuts i have read.. sure the buildings dont need some animations but it would be great if i could add a attack animation or a death animation stand isnt necessary cuz they dont move or be animatied when they stand.. think it will be cost some time to make it like C&C with the move & shoot system.. maybe i can bring it to work =)

and i surely dont want to make it 100% a copy of the normal C&C: ZH .. i will add some new missions and remove some existings to make it more custom

anyway if anyone could help me how to mainly save an animation that would be great.. i have made an animation named it like "stand" and then i have added it via the dex script .. in wc3viewer it is shown but the model dont do anything when i choose it :(
