PS: I am not asking about the best METAL band, just about the best ROCK band.

tbh this is never gunna work because i voted for the beatles, but they arent my favourite band. however i think they are undoubtebly the most influental and important muscians since motzart, yes they were bigger than jesus. but i know people are gunna go "omg i wantz 2 C nIcKlEbAcK winnerz bcoz RoCkStArZ R pro!!! LOLOL HAX LOL" when really band like that couldnt even be considered for best band ever....the only ones from that list that should be voted for are the beatles, AC/DC, rolling stones or led zepplin, the rest are no where near influental enough.

Though they'e not my favourite band in the whole wide world (Queens of the Stone Age) the Ramones take the cake for me for pioneering a genre I love very dearly: punk.

I don't think so. I'm a huge Rage fan, I love their music, i'm glad their touring again, but, their angry rock, while excellent, is nothing special. They just aren't legendary. Sure, their famous, they sell lots of albums, but other bands on the list practically pioneered rock, sold 80 million albums worldwide, etc. Rage just can't compete with that.
